OUTSTANDING, once again ![]()
Should be the same no matter the ship, but I have not played that particular mod. You cannot go to cruise using SHIFT+W ? I know there are some ships that do not have cruise engines, but again I do not know that mod..
Quote from "bakedpotato"The spacedust alone is enough to blast you into the twilight zone, literally
If you threw in some peyote you'd be seeing two of Juni, which wouldn't be so bad now that I think of it, if you topped that off with some shrooms you'd fly off the edge of the map and wind up in the unknown system never to race against Hovis again.
Good luck pilot, and may the advanced thruster be with you :ugeek:

Hmmm - maybe I will try mixen'em
OOOh - and I got the best experimental thruster in Sirius mounted on my SuperFerrit ![]()
I got all the FL music in it's own folder in Docs lol - as to shrooms, peyote, and space dust - well, I for one never mix'em
If I was gonna have FL music, it would be this one:
Yep that's it -
And don't forget:
BARRACUDA
KRYPTONITE
SATURDAY NIGHT'S ALLRIGHT FOR FIGHTING (Get a little action in)
Let's have a Knock Down DRAG OUT ROCK 'N ROLL PARTY in the STREETS
BLACK BETTY
BETTER NOW
HAND of FATE
TOYS in the ATTIC
NO MORE NO MORE (Ain't Seen the daylight since we started this Band)
Uh boy - I'm tryin' to put together my next 'Flyin/Fitin' collection cuz although I like ALL the FL music, I also like lots of other cool stuff... Let's Rock N' Roll !!
All good.
I have np at all running FL on W7 Beta - 64bit Ultimate. Here's what I heard:

I must first point out that I am running 64 bit W7, and if there were to be any problems it would (historically) be w/ 64 bit as opposed to 32 bit. Disable UAC or allow install...
To disable UAC (Preferable): Control Panel < User Accounts < Change User Account Settings < Never Notify. (This is only if you do not want to be prompted at all - there are security concerns, no matter what)
Perform clean install of Freelancer. Note: Recommend all user access so other accounts in Windows will retain following input. (New FLID will be created for each Windows account)
Reboot.
Download Global Server Workaround. <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.moddb.com/games/freelancer/d">http://www.moddb.com/games/freelancer/d</a><!-- m --> ... around-v10
Download FLMM 1.31. <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://flg.etron.rs/downloads/flmm.zip">http://flg.etron.rs/downloads/flmm.zip</a><!-- m -->
Download current desired Mod - preferably - <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://flg.etron.rs/Guild_Evolutions_b17.zip.flmod">http://flg.etron.rs/Guild_Evolutions_b17.zip.flmod</a><!-- m --> or the update to b17 from b16 - <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://flg.etron.rs/Guild_Evolutions_b1">http://flg.etron.rs/Guild_Evolutions_b1</a><!-- m --> ... .zip.flmod
Ready? Here we go - easy as can be:
Allow Freelancer to access Windows Firewall : Control Panel < Windows Firewall < (Left Pane) Allow a Program or Feature through Windows Firewall < Select anything Freelancer, as well as Core Networking if not already.
You could shut the Firewall off altogether, but it is not necessary. Note: Please make sure your actual network is allowed as well.
Now - easy beans -
Right-click FLMM 1.31 installer and choose "Run as Administrator". Confirm if prompted. Confirm standard FLMM prompts.(Credit to IGx 89)
Drag and Drop Desired Mod file into FLMM (or execute). If executing or d/d b16, Activate. If update required, and using patch file, then d/d (execute) and Activate (Ignore Arguments). (Credit to Ares, AzzA, Corpse, Knife, and all who developed {please see Mod readme}this Mod)
Now run Global Server Workaround (as Admin like aforementioned). There may be prompts that don't sit well, but allow. This will allow for lots of FL servers to be accessed. (Credit to Wodk4)
Last step - very easy - :
Edit the Freelancer shortcut on Desktop to look exactly as this:
"c:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE\Freelancer.exe" -sflguild.etron.rs:2302
Done.
This shows activation of Mod I use, but no matter, and I now have McAfee Beta Security intalled - np at all.

sad that you will be leaving freelancer. I dont think i ever got a chance to have a real chat with you but im sure it would have been interesting. Good luck with your next online adventure and it wouldnt hurt to pop in and say whaooooo now and then.
Yeah -
Hey don't leave Chips - all are hoping for more members around here not less! ![]()
As to things regarding site content etc., I believe Azza and I had a brief convo a while back regarding music in some fashion or other, such as weps fire when mouse hovering over links, or maybe even an option to turn some background music on/off. I don't know how involved such things are (I can barely write an HTML doc or Java program to save my life) but maybe it's worth considering? Just a thought from a guy who likes music ![]()
IMHO-
I think it's looking pretty good, and although it might have a ways to go yet, Yes Taw, it's almost like the old TLR. Let's give it some time and a chance? Just my take

See my edited post above... sry for delay^^
Yellow Eagle -
Yes Freelancer works quite well using W7Beta. I have the 64 bit variety, play online lots, and FLMM works just fine as well as the Global Server Workaround (if necessary).
Much like Vista, one needs to configure the Firewall to allow Freelancer to have full access, must run as Admin in most cases, AND I also got Starlancer to run easily as well. I have posted my precise actions to get Freelancer and the Mod I use on the forum where I play, and will duplicate that here in such an appropriate thread (I think there are a couple). It is really no big deal at all to get up and running ![]()
kk - went and got it - here's what I heard ![]()

This is indeed very good news
I've linked to FileFront for some time and their recources are indispensable. It would have been very detrimental to many if not all gamers (especially us Freelancers) if that site were to fall asunder. Cool beans they are still up and running, and us Freelancers can use all the help and 'Networking' we can get. TY for keeping us informed ![]()

Hi-
I would like to suggest that you check your reps w/that save, and write them down, then go back to previous save to compare. Must be some that changed and maybe you could change that if starting from previous?? Justa thought...
Quote from "Tawakalna"actually I don't watch television, apart from Al-Jazeera news and even that's a rarity. Gradually stopped watching it years ago, it's all lies and prolefeed anyway.
Might watch the occasional nature or history documentary or film if I'm in the room when it's on, but as far as I'm concerned television had its heyday years ago and now it's just unoriginal drivel designed to keep the masses happy. And that's in the UK where compared to most other countries we still have a decent national broadcaster - I've seen your telly in the US, it's unwatchable. Gave me a headache. Same shows but the advertising is too pervasive and your news channels aren't worthy of the name, sorry to say. They were once though, back in the days of investigative journalism, but now they pander to popular opinion and whoever pays the piper calls the tune (Fox News for example which is an utter disgrace and not worthy of the title of "news" channel)
Therefore, there is no use for anything on Telly other than that which has long passed -yes? First, there is no 'news' that is 'newsworthy' and that is hardly limited to any/all U.S. Broadcasts. Can we be even close to understanding the current events on this Planet by delving either deeply or in shallow uselessness into what is portrayed all over by many as thier own particular truism? Nope - not even maybe (IMHO).
So, if Tawakalna and I are even close to understanding each other (I believe we are), where do we stand as an entirety? Guess what - it does not matter because all of the Powers-That-Be (Journalistic, Governmental, Advertisement, or otherwise) are NOT controlled by you or me; rather, all things are controlled by a very tightly-knit and terribly powerful set of individuals/groups who have no intention of "letting anything go". So, let's stick to nicely entertaining Telly, stick our heads in the sand (or between our legs) and let the Powers-That-Be fight it out. Until there is some perceivable
break in the weather (not likely anytime soon) there is simply no sense in taking all things as seriously as some would. Gotta live life - and Keep on Freelancin'!! ![]()
Check link below to see list of servers and activity but remember it is just stats on # of players.

Quote from "MrEd"Lancer Warrior I recommend Verizon Fios its slightly more expensive but worth it when i shut down i cancelled the cable hook up and connected wireless and havent noticed a diff at all !!!
I will tell you right now that there are 2 machines connected wireles and 1 hooked direct -- Verizon Fios is ridiculously fast i have been downloading music and watching vids while both kids were hunting people down on servers in halo and CS and it never even blinked
i had a trading web site i used to use massive site -- scripts popups and charts and live feeds and graphics and direct links all front end live on screen and on roadrunner it would take like a minute or more to load up everthing total -- on Fios it was like Bam
Meant to get back to you earlier -
FIOS is available here and I know several ppl who have it. I have contemplated changing over, but I see no difference in the picture quality (HD) and the speed does not bother me. I actually can fly 2 ships @ same time using 2 comps playing FL online, and if I can do that as well as d/l 200-500 meg files quickly enough to be acceptable, I will wait until some pro or con changes my mind. I also note that Verizon did have an issue w/firmware in thier set-top boxes where some TVs could not function properly using HDMI. That may since have been resolved, but it did make me hesitate. When the time comes, I'll end up w/FIOS or another provider of same service (Guess Who is getting into that). Later!
