ok well it was a long time in coming But there was alot of redundant code put in by eagle to protect registrations and user permissions ,,, his server had gone down for good causing issues with FLAC and thats when we started tearing it apart ,,, it has taken us awhile and with the great the coding skills of DMZ we have at last put out a new ver...

the new FLAC is out and avail to those registered and approved in the FLAC group on eagles site

    New in this release: 2.9.9.10

DMZ has done major upgrades! FLAC now works with all versions of Windows and both 32 and 64 bit OS's. He has removed the registration requirement so the KeyGen is no longer required. FLAC is now run directly from the file rather than being installed as a program.

this meets the largest goal we set for ourselves a long time ago when we took over the code ....good luck and have fun

there are new features being worked on .... sad that FL has just about had it , But we at [RIP] love playing old games until we are the last ones playing lol

    Hell we still run D3 servers so the Underverse isnt going anywhere {new relase also coming soon}

UnderVerse 2.28, available now at • The Underverse by Team [RIP]

We have a new type of Planet located inside our new 109th System. Introducing Planet Illumnion...
The Exterior, Interior and Base are made up of 154 individual parts, necessary to obtain solidity for flying 'inside' a structure.

This shows some of the 20 kilometers of cave inside the Planet.

And a quick fight in the cave...

Here is the Base located on the North Pole of the Planet.

This is the first late release I have had in 19 years of level and mod building, sorry for the delay. I had to overcome many Freelancer limitations to build this planet and interior cave system.
I figured out the multiple-point problems and then later the multiple-near-point problems. Getting the sur files to work (what gives a wall its solidity) was a nightmare but it is fairly solid now. And don't get me started on the parallel-sur-lag issue, heh.
Because of the aging Freelancer engine, the caves are necessarily simplistic in design. I wish I knew how to smooth out the lighting better but if I add more lights in the system then the Flare gun and other guns that emit light stop working.
I have many ideas for future builds of the UnderVerse, I hope you enjoy this one.

    Release Notes:

New sounds and trail effects have been added to some of the engines.
Each of our 125 shipa now have customized fuses for sparks, smoke and flame.

Every ship now has a visual explosion with varying colors.

The updated universe maps (Dwn's printable one and Soup's pretty one) are now in the mod folder for quick reference.

Watch the great new intro movie made by [GLTC]Goultek!

The ability to log in with multiple user accounts (from the same computer) is now built into the mod.
Asteroid fields for commodity mining have been added to Strand, Grand Rift, Maelstrom, Faust, Callisto, Belesarius, Ganymede, Etna, Ukraine, Vesper, Wunderland and Switzerland.
All ship prices have been evened out to reflect the shield add-ons.
A mine launcher has been added to the Dart, Mantis Screamer, Hornet MKIII and Tranquilizer.
The mass has been increased on the four Light Fighters so they strafe smoother.
Docking Rings have been removed from all planets (except Crematoria, our prison planet). Now you can dock on a planet from any direction. Undocking exits at the original spot. This has slightly changed distances from planets before F3 will activate, you will have to fly closer to the larger planets before auto-docking. Speed docking is still enabled for all other locations.
NPC Battleship groups have been tweaked, they should no longer planet dive or de-spawn while engaged. I have limited them to a single group of 6 ships at a time now instead of two. Maybe now you will have a chance alone, heh.
Headlights have been added to all of the ships.
Select weapons now emit light as they project.

    [/video]

A new FLARE gun has been created for the mines...in case you are Afraid of the Dark. I know you are...

    [/video]

The distance you can visibly see ships has been reduced, this will help lower video lag. This has not changed the HUD ranges.
Over 300 new rumors have been created by [GLTC]Goultek, proofread by DirtyThree, thanks to you both! (You need nearly green reps to see them).
A fresh 2.28 Load screen prepped by [RIP]Soupman. Image by Charlie DiAngelo, awesome!
The four 'Start' rocks in the 'Fame or Shame' system are now clickable from a distance (for those of you tired of plowing into an angry hornets nest).
The 'Start' rocks in the 'Feudal Wars' system are now clickable from a distance (for those of you who just can't seem to find the rock) Congrats to Ironmoon and Jen, their win records have granted them honorary naming rights.
Two planets/bases in each Capitol have been converted or added to Faction-only status (much like the Merchant-only planets except no npcs outside).

Twelve new ships make their appearance in this release,

The Brutix Heavy Fighter, provided by [Aesir]Arch. This was created by his late girlfriend Chessa. Texture and HP by Darkblade. Sold at Valhalla, Zion.

The Viper MK7 Ultra Fighter, provided by [Dx]Red_Phoenix. Wireframe by Mark Davies. Adapted by [RIP]Fusion. Sold at Stratos, Solitude.

Five Faction-only Heavy Fighters created by [RIP]John Carter:
    Asp - Merchant
    Fist - Necromonger
    Tempest - Elemental
    Blade - Furyan
    Hatchet - Rykengoll

Five Faction-only Battleships created by [RIP]John Carter:
    Cobra - Merchant
    Dragoon - Necromonger
    Wildfire - Elemental
    Sythe - Furyan
    Pike - Rykengoll

    ...................insert new ships here............................

More voice files have been added for all new ships, factions, systems, bases and commodities by [RIP]Soupman. We have probably replaced over 5,000 voices by now for Missions, Bartenders, Bribe Girls, Ships Computer, Docking Command and Male & Female Pilots.

The new system has restricted access (the first of several new systems coming). Only players who are flying one of the new Mine ships listed below can enter. There are three reasons I did this; 1) so no big-blast torpedoes are used (a single one of these could kill everyone in the mine, heh). 2) The mines (and future additions) are narrow, large ships would get stuck and I don't want to hear the whining. 3) The chase view has been lowered to ship level so your view doesn't go through the wall and disorient you when you scrape a wall.
Three existing ships have been converted to be Mine ships, they are all Heavy Fighters and each one steers differently:
    Fang: 3 gun/missiles, 5 turrets, 17000 armor, 85 bots, 85 batts. mine, CM, CD
    Reddog: 3 gun/missiles, 5 turrets, 16500 armor, 80 bots, 80 batts. mine, CM, CD
    Moss: 3 gun/missiles, 5 turrets, 17500 armor, 90 bots, 90 batts. mine, CM, CD
You may use these ships in normal space if you wish, but only these three ships can enter the new system (FLAC protected). They come equipped with a special Mine Shield and a special Mine Thruster is available. Both are better than stock but not quite as good the ones sold by Merchants. I chose these particular ships because the sur profile is ideal for wall scraping without getting sardined.
Global constants have been drastically altered to give maximum advantage to this new type of mine flying, but you won't notice this in normal ships. The Mine shield gives a pleasant sound when you bump something, you can thank me now.
There are also three new Bases and a few new commodities and a new trade run (Phrogs, anyone?).

Special thanks to Schmackbolzen for his obj-sur converter. Two years of fresh building possibilities are now open for business.

biggest question i have in mind now is "are there any requirements to fulfill in order to be allowed to do own development on that tool"?

reason for that is that about half a year ago the developers at the SWAT Portal had a discussion about which way to go in future... FLAC, continuing out custom FLhook or maybe even jumping on the FLhook plugin train.
Since FLAC was off limits and the plugin version of flhook turned out to be pretty much useless for our needs we had to stick with our already existing custom FLhook which we continued to develop
now... that FLAC is stilll there... alive... probably even ready for progress it might be worth thinking about those choices again

    Hi Op

the only source code development that will take place will be through the new dev team this is to protect the source code.

plugins like bulldogs or alphas are still welcome as always on eagles site.

i was informed by eagle that Dwn and i are Free to Develop it as we see fit. we have plans to move forward and are putting together a very small team that will have access to parts of the source code for develpment.

we have all of the files that make up FLAC, We are accepting applications for the Dev Team .. C++ .Net And VS Skills are required as well as plugin knowledge with FLAC or Hook

we will look at each application on its own merits and the existing members of the dev team will vote on who will be brought onboard to work on the program.

one of our first tasks will be to put the feature requests located in the FLAC section of eagles site in order and then decide which direction to go in.

See the Latest News for NEW information on FLAC status

it is NOW FREE to Server Ops that meet the guidlines set forth on Eagles site

FLAC stands for Freelancer Anticheat, but this program does so much more.
Created by Eagle, FLAC has been used on many servers over the years.
Thanks to the generosity of Eagle, FLAC is now FREE for use (thats right FREE,but he will still gladly accept donations).
To gain Board Access to the private forum, register at Eagle Utopia - Home and and email the application at the bottom of the forum.
You must be an active server operator, references from other operators are encouraged.

Dwnundr and Soupman of the FLC Freelancer Community site have been selected by Eagle to Maintain the FLAC site and protect and maintain the Source code for further development. we have ambitious plans to add even more to this wonderfull program using plugins and editing of the source itself.
FLAC offers flexibility with a GUI (Graphical User Interface) and plugins (which can be added to future builds). You can run Ioncross beside it if you like (not in full control).
The UnderVerse uses Ioncross for extra Console messages, stats processing and clearing overlimit cargoholds.
It is not compatible with 64 bit OS's or FLHook
Specific Server/Client modifications are necessary, read the forums.
There are many mod ini additions that can enchance your mod (like mounting groups etc). To get acces to FLAC you will have to sign up on the Forum Eagle Utopia - Home?
and send an email to eagle.utopia.admins@gmail.com with the following information:
    Name.
Login name on the FLAC forum.
    Server name and ip.
Background info on your server and yourself.
Hosting experience and/or references from other freelancer hosters if any.

If you allready have access, you can click here http://efs.proboards22.com/index.cgi#AntiCheatCat to continue to the FLAC board sections.
Freelancer Anti Cheat (FLAC) is a server side application capable of protecting against all sorts of cheats. Many cheats/mods won't work anymore while others are simply rendered useless. Next to anti cheat this tool also allows server operators to add many new features to their mods which would otherwise be unavailable to them.
    Feature list
•The most advanced anti cheat available anywhere.
•In game commands for players and admins.
•Plug-in support, ability to add your own functionality giving you the full power of what FLAC can do.
•Player cloaking features which are 100% secure, it is in no way possible to use any sort of cloak cheats to your advantage making cloaking a viable and fun addition to any server.
•Variable cruise speeds, different ships can fly at different cruise speeds.
•Advanced ship mounts, allowing equipment to be restricted to specific groups of ships regardless of mount type, increasing the game's moddability tremendously.
•Base and Jump gate/hole locking, groups of ships can be set to be unable to dock certain places where others can.
•Support for dynamic economy, allowing you to setup your custom economy or use a commonly available plug-in to do so instead.
•Player dockable ships, making it possible for players to dock for instance battleships piloted by other players who can then fly you all over the galaxy.
•Dynamic cargo pods, large freighters can be setup to have destructible pods which are automatically attached when hauling cargo and when shot will cause you to lose cargo and possibly incur a piracy penalty as well.
•Proper mooring, audio states mooring rather than docking and ships moor and cast off facing the fixtures without the need to modify the original game files so npc's will still be able to moor as usual as well.
•No PvP zones, you can specify area's where player damage is switched off below a specific rank.
•Regenerative armor upgrades can be modded and used on for instance nomad ships to make them regenerate hull just like shields would. History Development of FLAC started back in early 2003 and the application first saw light of day on the Eagle Utopia server on July 1st of that year, which was the day that server was launched. FLAC started out as a private tool to protect against server crashes and other instabilities Freelancer servers suffered in those days. Due to the success of this tool and requests from outside it was later made suitable to run on a variety of servers out there and made available to other server operators. Many of the anti cheat features within FLAC are proprietary and kept from the general public. This was done deliberaty to prevent possible leaks from being exploited.

These days FLAC covers all the important cheats known, and caused development to take a new direction in recent years where focus has been to improve on Freelancer's moddability.
To date, FLAC still holds the best track record of stopping cold cheats on both unmodded (vanilla) and a large variety of modded servers out there! Availability Our software is not publically available, and was in the past only Available if purchased.
Free copies are now provided to experienced server operators and their affiliates.
you must meet the server operator guidelines posted above to recieve the program. we look forward to bringing server Ops new Functions and Program support well into the future.
thanks for your Time in reading this.

I have made an offer at the FLC to moderate a discussion between TLR and That other sites staff in good faith although I dont epect it to go anywhere.

I dont do much posting on That other site because honestly im not a modder ... i do what Dwn tells me to do with files and they end up in our Mod..im more of an Admin.

Gameservers and Websites .. i do what i can with my limited skills.

I know our offer for a moderated discussion is not what you or That other site are looking for Op ... I only put it out there to Show that there are those (such as myself ,,an outlaw i suppose :)) in the community that have no issue with TLR or That other site and that all of us should get along for the greater good of the community. I know.. its been said over and over .. but hey thats me.

I know the history there is long for you and them .. and while i hope someday to see it end im not sure that it ever will..

But knowing me for the time that you have im pretty sure you know that we always have and always will support TLR and your other communities.. because we share the same Vision of Free and friendly Help to those that need it.

Op is all about the FL community as a whole and always has been ... His OP inion from time to time has lets say .. rattled a few cages lol

But ive never known him to be a hater and i ive known him awhile now ... Sry if i overstepped with my opinion of ya Op but it seemed to need saying

i now trademark the term ,,, OP inion lol
