IIRC, Its done by editing the Freelancer.exe and the server.dll. The bad thing is... its buggy and not worth it. I was hoping it would work on my server... but it didn't pan out due to stability issues. If the server allows it... using an account manager for multiple accounts is the best workaround available at this time.

Dewalt is trash. The guys at my work burn clutches in them on a regular basis. I think we don't have a single Dewalt more than 6months old and have probably trashed 12 of them. They're basically an overpriced Black and Decker. We recently started buying the Milwaukee drills and they seem to be holding up MUCH better.

Regenerating Hull is a feat made possible through hooks. In Shattered Worlds case, FLAC (Freelancer Anti-Cheat) makes this possible. This can be done with FLHook if you have the appropriate plugin. However, I do not know for certain there is one out there that does this.

In regards to Mortar, you can "fake it" and make it have desired effect.

    • Create it the same way you would a missile/torp
    • Simply set "force_gun_ori = true"
    • "turn_rate = 0"
    • You'll have to play with the acceleration, muzzle velocity, tracking, time to lock, and seeker range to obtain the desired effect
    • Lastly, you need to make the designated hardpoint on the ship point in the desired direction

If all goes well, when you fire it... it should arc upwards at the desired speed till the time to lock kicks in, then arc down toward its target. This may seem cumbersome and a lot of work, but FL modding is pretty much nothing more than figuring out workarounds to obtain the desired feat (beyond the conventional modding aspects).

The last one... yeah, good luck with that one :(

This only applies to Shattered Worlds...

    • Get 2 members willing to join you

      • Optional: You can post an advertisement HERE. Look at the other advertisements to get an idea of what you need

    • Post a faction document HERE

      • If you don't know what to put in a faction document look HERE or ask one of the Admin/SP/other clan leaders. They will fill you in

    • Go in-game and ask one of the Admin or SP on Shattered Worlds to rename your character to what you want. Example: [Warlord]Mike

Server policies vary from server to server. But this is the standing policy for Shattered Worlds. I hope this helps. :P

P.S. How do you like the mod so far?

Would you need the FL List Server patch to access the server? Or is the IP added to the Freelancer.ini file?

Crazy's FL List Server has been integrated. Unfortunately, at this time, Crazy's Global List Server is down. :( Until then you'd need to us the direct connect method and add the server ip to the target in the shortcut (i.e. "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE\Freelancer.exe" -s72.249.124.18:2302)

Also, it would be great for it to be Singleplayer :D (not just Open SP, but for the storyline as-well) with more storyline triggers' etc :p

Aye, unfortunately multiplayer takes precidence. The mod was originally balanced for multiplayer use, we've done a major overhaul to the whole game, in order to fix multiplayer balance issues that vanilla had (while keeping the same feel of the game). Because of this, it will require extensive work on the singleplayer side to ensure the same level of balance is achieved. Due to our future plans for the mod and the massive workload, I'm very doubtful that we will have the assets to make it singleplayer compatible. :(

Is this a Multiplayer only mod?

The mod you can download from the Shattered Worlds website is a Multiplayer only mod. Go to THIS THREAD for more info on the multiplayer mod.

I'm working on a Open SP version when I get free time... hopefully it gives people a "taste" and they will want to try the Multiplayer version.

You can download the Multiplayer version now after registering on my forums.

In regards to the texturing the starspheres.... look at the post I made in THIS THREAD

Now as for your ship problem. That shiparch.ini, goods.ini and market_ships.ini that you put into your mod folder... you now need to make entries in them adding juni's defender as a flyable ship. Look in the TLR Archives... I'm sure there is someone who posted how to do it.

DLL number of the ids_name of your faction (in the initialworld.ini) = X

X = DLL number of the ids_name of your faction (in the initialworld.ini) nameresources.dll
    X + 1 = Y nameresources.dll
    Y + 131834 = A offerbribesresources.dll
    A + 100 = B offerbribesresources.dll
    B + 100 = C offerbribesresources.dll
    C + 100 = D offerbribesresources.dll

Look at an existing faction's dll number and then type those number's into your DLL editing program like FLDev or FLED-IDS to see what I mean.

Those entries are needed to make faction names appear in the mission/bribe text.

Custom CMP planets have loads of issues. In my opinion, Its best to utilize SPH files, they done it in vanilla for a reason. Here is a link to a tutorial I wrote about making SPH planets.

    Using this method you have...

    • Vanilla Atmosphere Effects
    • The Atmosphere Coloring and planet glow
    • You don't have flickering/disappearing issues associated with planet CMP's (there is an hex offset to fix this, but if you turn it up too high, it causes problems with all of the vanilla planets)
    • You don't need to do the workarounds to make CMP planets work right.
    • Since most CMP planets are cylindrically mapped, they have texture warping issues at the poles of the planet. SPH planets being cube mapped dont have this issue

Here are some custom planets I've done using the SPH method...
    Custom Planet Los Angeles
    Custom Cali Minor
    Custom Planet Maine
    Custom Planet Pittisburgh
