well, because nature doesn´t necessarily provide the route you want. Artificially you might be able to reach systems natural jumpholes don´t offer routes too. Your probably right about the natural jumphole thing, I think the rumor was only refering to the ones in Liberty. well, you can talk with them, you just can´t have any real type of conversation. Just click the hail button in the MFD. I beg to differ cereberus, when a jumpgate opens, you don´t see a jumphole immediately, you see the gate progressively generating it. If you don´t beleive me park your ship in front and watch. also come up behind one when it is closed. You can see there isn´t any event horizon at that point in time. p.s. Jumpholes are not naturally occuring phenomenon. They were created by the destruction of the Dallas, a fact specifically stated in one of the Houston System rumors. This is probably a dumb question but, how come you can approach 1000 when traveling through a tradelane, but cruiseing over 500 cause lag? Btw, I just got promoted to Cmr. Yahoo, first promotion in a year! I´ve been saying this alot lately, but I don´t think that can be done, currently... Like you say it would take some serious scripting. JohnHawke C-in-C Wing Commander:Vega Scourge Project E-mail: jonathan_weimer@yahoo.com Website: here

Besides, why the heck would you want to cruise between to systems? Even at high speed it would take forever... And I don´t think that JumpGates are built on Jumpholes. Why? Because why on Earth would you go through the expense of building a massive Jump Gate and stick it on top of a JumpHole that could be used in exactly the same fashion? @Puke, we have to assume the larger ships had some form of FTL drive for 2 reasons. (1) They don´t fit through JumpGates. (2) The intro clearly shows the sleeper ships jumping out of the system. Idk argh, it´s got something about it that´s not all bad. I think I kinda like it. But I´m not gonna mod it. JohnHawke C-in-C Wing Commander:Vega Scourge Project E-mail: jonathan_weimer@yahoo.com Website: here

umm... I don´t think that´s possible with the FL engine. It invovles to many things that we just can´t do yet. Correct me if I´m wrong on this. JohnHawke C-in-C Wing Commander:Vega Scourge Project E-mail: jonathan_weimer@yahoo.com Website: here

ehh... maybe a little. btw, rheinland ships are ugly, but they kinda remind me of german WW2 fighters, which were pretty ugly also, but they were still pretty cool. I think the texture jobs look pretty good though. well... technically, you´d have to lock the controls while docked, which can be done I believe. However, it would take an aweful lot of scripting... If it´s possible.. (which it probably is, might be hard though.) I know the intro says there were 5, but I´m sure one the the in-game rumors mentions there being 8. I think 3 were destroyed before takeoff, so technically it could be possible.
