Hello,

Anyone else having trouble making the regular single player campaign function with the latest version of Rebalance (3.56c or whatever)?

I uninstalled the mods, the mod manager, and freelancer multiple times and then reinstalled them in the fashion that the Rebalance mod dictates and every time I try to activate and play the mod I end up in the Faction starting location, I am Level2, and I can't do the SP campaign.

Yes, yes I told the mod during activation that I wanted the normal single player campaign, not OpenSP, or the Multiplayer.

Anyone else? Or is this just me for some stupid reason?

I am playing 3.55 final instead, as it lets me actually do the campaign......

We tried to destroy a Liberty battleship, the Rio Grande...launched 25 torps at it, no go.

Not really. One guy in a freighter, and myself in a Dragon took on the entire fighter wing stationed at Fort Bush (and destroyed everything that could be destroyed, heh, lots of scrap metal from the supply depot) They couldn´t even put a dent in me as long as I didn´t stay still, it was like a duck shoot.

Just gotta throw in my two cents on this, because this particular statement gets me pretty angry. "****ing warez loozers. Buy the Goddamn game and then enjoy a LEGAL copy without all the bugs. And yes warez copies are ripped games with alot of bugs and everybody knows it. If you think they don´t then you are fooling yourself." I, for one, have Freelancer pre-ordered. However, since it doesn´t get sent out until the 4th, being able to enjoy the game now is a good thing. I´m in no way hurting the industry, or the programmers who made the game. Also, they are exactly the same as games you buy in retail. Especially ISOs, they are the game CDs. -- Anyway, back on subject. I think Freelancer´s multiplay is the main selling point for space-simmers. That´s where you´ll find most of us. The single play also looks to be shaping up, and that is what will attract most casual gamers. Still, they did a DAMN good job on it. If your server goes down, oh well, start over and try a different career.

Why would that be technically impossible? Is the player info not saved server-side? (Which I hope they are saved server side - can you say edited character info?) If it´s saved on the server´s harddrive, I don´t see why it couldn´t be combined with another´s. If it´s encoded or something, it´s all just a matter of time before it is decoded.

I hope you didn´t interpret mine as an "E&B sucks" post - it wasn´t. I simply meant it wasn´t for me, it´s fun for a while, but I need tension between players, and the ability to act on these and become hostile. It´s still an entertaining game.

and no, it´s not possible to port your game over to another server

<font face=´trebuchet ms, Verdana, Arial, Helvetica´ size=2> I think it would be possible to have several servers "linked up", perhaps each one playing the part of a "different" universe. If the admins simply collected all new player information, consolidated them and passed them out to each server in the link server group thing, then all the players info would be the same on each of the servers. Then, you would have people wanting long, drawn out wars able to play on those servers. I for one hope something like this is possible, and someone starts it up.

I´ll probably go with the Rheinland or Japanese faction(Whatever they´re called..) for the first bit, till I get myself established. Then it´s on to pirating! Hoorah!

I believe he´s talking about the last mission. My favorite is taking out McGann - after having him in my sights for so long...Sweet, sweet, revenge. Also the surprise torp run was fun, too. Except I had to repeat it once, as my wingmen kept flying into me and raising the alarm!

Athlon are cheaper, and faster...( They have better clock speeds, so it doesn´t matter if you have a higher processor speed...I can still outgun you!) You´re gonna have to upgrade that GF2 - and whatever happens, make sure you don´t go for a GF4 MX..they´re just overclocked GF2s. You could try ordering online, if availability is limited in your area. I snagged mine for 160 or so online. Edited by - Lance on 27-01-2003 05:03:41
