....I think this is the right place to post this....
I've been playing around with IDA Pro (disassembler) for awhile. I loaded in and disassembled a DLL, then found the data and made the changes I want to the disassembly. Now for the stupid question: [drumroll] [/drumroll] How do I save my changes and impliment them? Do I make an ".asm" file from the complete original DLL, or do I make a partial? Where do I go from there? Any hints or help would be appreciated.
......Yeah, that's what I've been doing this last long while.

Welcome :) you'll get useful things, and sometimes even entertaining things. There is an extensive downloads section full of community work.

Oh, I see. That is work done in FLHook and/or FLAC, programs which I know nothing about. The people you need to talk to are w0dk4 and ...some other guy. They are pretty well known for they're developments of FLHook.

Heheh, you people are funny. Sure the world is going to end, but who cares? While we're at it, let's talk about who's older and gonna die first, that'll end up in the same place. Personally, I agree completely with Taw.

Do you want shields on your battleships? I think they're a bit redundant, given the hitpoints that you could assign(but that's just me). As for the physics, that is a matter of playing around with the settings in the shiparch.ini file. Make sure you have the appropriate modding software downloaded, and have read the pertaining tutorials on this site (and others). Most of the resources that you need are available right here on TLR.

msn_playerloadout is your starting ship in SP. playerloadout_faux is a stand in ship and loadout that is used only once in SP, within memory. The ship you see in the first undocking sequence in vanilla SP story is the faux ship. This is why, even if you start with a modded ship, when you undock from Manhattan and see the Donau you always have the starflyer(faux ship). Then when the sequence ends, you have whatever ship you modded in. Cheers :)

FTOW looked pretty cool. I've known about the Crossfire mod for ages, but never tried it. Most of the mods I come across have great content, many graphics improvements/additions, and always new/changed ships. But there seem to be none of the larger scale mods that stay vanilla-style and conservative, yet add anything meaningful. I gotta get back to mod writing. [Scratches head and walks off] But yeah those two mods looked great.

Hi everybody. I was just wondering if anyone had figured out a way to attach a zone to something moving like a ship or missile. This could be used for a radiation warhead, or for making area of effect buffs for support ships, ala "Sins of a Solar Empire". If you think you know something about it, give a shout :)

I have played through the story numerous times, and only recently did I fall upon the credits list on IMDB. There's a lot of people in that thing! Aside from the obvious starring of George Takei and John Rhies Davies, there are portions (npc repeatables, probably) by Christopher Lee. I thought I heard an evil laugh somewhere while playing.....there are others, but I forget at the moment.
