First of all, welcome to The Lancers Reactor iryan! Second, it´s our pleasure to host the file you submitted and we thank you for offering it to us. As you have heard, we are seriously trying to expand our games coverage with Dungeon Siege and the upcoming Dungeon Siege 2 for instance, but it´s not as easy to get some ground in that area. Maybe you could help us out a bit to get the word out that we are seriously looking into expanding our site with coverage of Dungeon Siege and Dungeon Siege 2 news? We could really use all the help we can get. We are still doing a lot of coding on the site to fit the Dungeon Siege info in the site and still have a lot to add to the site. Perhaps a screenshots section, faq, maps, characters/weapons section etc. We are also still working on new forums, which will give us better options of creating sub forums and thus have seperate Dungeon Siege forums instead of it now being mixed with Freelancer forums. But, one step at a time... Again, welcome! ______________________________ Eraser Webmaster of The Lancers Reactor E-Mail: eraser@lancersreactor.org MSN: eraser@lancersreactor.org <img src=´http://www.lancersreactor.org/t/i/lan_butt.gif ´>

Well, in general I´m a PC gamer. I agree that in most cases (is not always the case though) PC games just look better and sometimes have more features. I´m also an avid player of Mods and naturally you can only Mod your games on a PC, which is definitely a great advantage. And I´ve also played games on the PC that never made it to a console. However, it seems that because consoles are getting much better these days, more and more games are developed multi-platform and there are just few games for the PC that will stay PC only. I mean, even games such as Half-Life 2 are being developed for the Xbox. And, nowadays you see a trend of certain games coming out that are console only or at least appear to be (such as Halo 2 for the Xbox, although I´m pretty sure it will be confirmed for the PC eventually as well) and also that games are released earlier on consoles then on the PC, such as GTA San Andreas (PS2) and KOTOR 2 (Xbox). Both games are developed for the PC as well, but PC gamers have to wait on that. Also online gaming was an advantage of the PC over consoles, but nowadays that advantage obviously became invalid as well. So, you definitely see a shift and eventually the PC will slowly vanish as a gaming tool, mark my words. Entire entertainment systems are build now that work with Windows XP Media Center Edition for example, which you can hook up to your TV and manage your radio, TV, play PC games on your TV, surf the web, see DVD´s and what not. Even the console developers are trying to do anything in their power to get PC gamers away from their regular PC´s. For instance Microsoft, who are busy working on the Xbox Next, which will be launched in 3 editions. A regular Xbox Next console, a Xbox Next HD (Hard Disk), which will both be launched somewhere in the fall of 2005 and then later on a Xbox Next PC (which will let you play Xbox games and also PC games!) somewhere in 2006. Sony is also going for the All-In solution more and more with the upcoming Playstation 3, which will also be a multi media entertainment system. The downside I have about the PC is system requirements and right now I´m in a position I just can´t play any of the upcoming or recently released games anymore and I´m forced to upgrade my system. Problem is that its going to cost me between $ 1000 and $ 2000 bucks (I might need an entire new system). I just can´t afford that kind of cash right now, I´m in the middle of rebuilding my entire back and front garden, I just booked a holiday for me, my wife and my little girl and so on. So, because of that and the fact that console are getting better and you can do more with them, I decided to go buy a Xbox within the month. That is obviously going to cost me a lot less and I can play the games I want, such as Kotor 2 for example. I´m really sorry, but I guess there´s another soul lost to the consoles.... ______________________________ Eraser Webmaster of The Lancers Reactor E-Mail: eraser@lancersreactor.org MSN: eraser@lancersreactor.org <img src=´http://www.lancersreactor.org/t/i/lan_butt.gif ´>

Bargib founded the site alone. It was actually Mike "Hellcat" Holland, TLR´s 19th members, who was given the first TLR staff position. He helped Bargib gather news and post about it on the frontpage among other things. Electricbrain was TLR´s 28th member and became its second staffmember. Then later on, Mario "HCl" Brito was given a position to cover the editing stuff, like utilies, features and an editing FAQ. There was also a newsposter on TLR for a short time by the name of Blitzkrieg. Same goes for Barak ´Karab´ Carter, who was also briefly a TLR staffmember. I don´t know what happened to them though. Then came Stinger as newest staffmember. Later on, Shlozza was added to the staff, don´t know what happened to him either. Then Boscoe and Tachyon were made Moderators. Afther that came Wizard and Mustang. Then BP was given a position to take care of all the Freelancer Mods that were submitted. Finally myself and Fear Factor got a position here at TLR. And the rest of the staff got added fairly recently, so I guess you all remember, but just in case in order of promotion date : Chips, Finalday, Locutus, Parabolix, Harrier, Glock36, Gowserpaul and sycho_warrior. ______________________________ Eraser Webmaster of The Lancers Reactor E-Mail: eraser@lancersreactor.org MSN: eraser@lancersreactor.org <img src=´http://www.lancersreactor.org/t/i/lan_butt.gif ´>

For all Wing Commander (IV) lovers, comedy enthousiasts and basically anyone who loves reading, I want to recommend the following. Very funny alternate version of the WC IV: The Price of Freedom story! It´s an alternate version of the entire Wing Commander IV: The Price of Freedom story. OMG, this story made me laugh so loud! It´s a blend of the serious story of WC4, but in a more humorous way. It follows the same WCIV story with the same character, but also with some added ones from WCIII and added parts to the story and like I said, it´s still exiting and serious like the original story is in a way, but this humorous version is just a true diamond imo! Example: Remember the part in the beginning where Blair and Maniac fly a shuttle to Confed HQ and notice the TCS Victory? Well, here´s what happens next in the alternate story....

"Hey, is that the Victory?" I picked out her familiar silhouette against Saturn´s disk. Our old ship appeared to be in the same orbit as HQ, about a hundred thousand klicks ahead of it. She was surrounded by civilian shuttles and runabouts. "Yeah, it´s an orbital museum now. A relic of the war, like some farmers I know." He looked at me mockingly. "I´ll bet they have a plaque right over your bunk." Ha ha, very funny. Actually, I was wondering if they ever found that pile of used condoms behind the gunnery console, where Flint and I had most of our trysts. I didn´t want some kid in a school tour group to run across them. "That reminds, me, Maniac. What did you ever do with that huge Playboy collection of yours?" Maniac just smiled and pointed to the aft compartment. Next to my duffel bag were four more with magazine-shaped bulges. "Travel light, don´t you?" I asked sarcastically. He nodded, grinning proudly.

<font face=´trebuchet ms, Verdana, Arial, Helvetica´ size=2> Edited by - Eraser on 11/25/2004 4:28:32 AM

I played KOTOR on the PC and truly loved the game, probably the best RPG I ever played. So naturally I can´t wait to play Kotor II, but I´m actually considering buying an Xbox. Well, actually I already made up my mind Not just for KOTOR II, but for many other games as well of course. The main reason to buy an Xbox for me is actually the fact that I need a new comp as mine is getting old and while I can barely play games such as KOTOR on it with pretty much all settings on high, I can forget about playing games such as HL2, Doom III or Far Cry and such. Since I have a little girl to take care of and pay my mortgage etc etc, I can´t afford buying a new comp right now. However, buying an Xbox IS pretty doable for me right now. Can I play KOTOR II early after all! ______________________________ Eraser Webmaster of The Lancers Reactor E-Mail: eraser@lancersreactor.org MSN: eraser@lancersreactor.org <img src=´http://www.lancersreactor.org/t/i/lan_butt.gif ´>

As it says in that article and has been offered to many other articles that reported about the allegations, Lexmark has issued an official statement in response to the allegations, which is: "Lexmark Connect is a voluntary program that is fully disclosed to all users during the installation process for a new printer. During this process, a registration screen will appear that will allow the user to choose to participate, or not participate in this program. A user MUST review this page and click "continue", or the registration process will not install the program or the printer." <img src=´http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/11/15/screenshot.jpg ´> I´m the one working for Lexmark btw and I haven´t heard anything more about this internally other than what is mentioned in the statement, which is that people can choose to participate or not. 1. John Coffey, The Green Mile 2. Jesus, The Passion of the Christ 3. Roy, Bladerunner 4. Boromir, The Lord of the Rings 5. Gandalf, The Lord of the Rings (well, he didn´t actually die, but it looked like he did, so it kinda was a death scene) Of course there are much more great death scenes, but these came to mind right now Edited by - Eraser on 11/16/2004 6:40:05 AM

Hmmm.... your list has a very high ´Quentin Tarantino´ level Which is one of my favorite writers/producers/directors btw. Because of the fast-paced and well written dialogues in his movies (IMO of course), Tarantino really gets everything out of his actors to show us how well they can deliver. Of course, opinions vary a lot about Tarantino (actually that goes for a lot of directors and actors of course)... either you love him or you hate him, there´s no in between if you ask me.

Good question, however everyone has his own definition of ´cool´. While one person might find you cool if you punch someone on the nose and go into a slugfest when someone makes a really below the belt comment about you, another person might find you cool when you´re the better man/woman and ignore the person making a below the belt comment and go about your business. Just a matter of personal taste and opinion, so the question does not have a uniform answer ______________________________ Eraser Webmaster of The Lancers Reactor E-Mail: eraser@lancersreactor.org MSN: eraser@lancersreactor.org <img src=´http://www.lancersreactor.org/t/i/lan_butt.gif ´>

Thanks! I just changed them, but Chips was the one who send me the gif and it was gromit´s idea

You need a subscription to see it over on AOL. But I did get to see it thanks to grom, thx buddy! I already saw all the making of vids (I have them on my hd), but this one was a real treat Hey, does anyone else hope to see Vader perform his first force-choke on Jar-Jar? ______________________________ Eraser Webmaster of The Lancers Reactor E-Mail: eraser@lancersreactor.org MSN: eraser@lancersreactor.org <img src=´http://www.lancersreactor.org/t/i/lan_butt.gif ´>

All those fixes and changes sound really good Warzog, I´m thrilled to see you´re still going strong with the Mod and holding on. Keep up the good work, I can´t wait to play your next version ______________________________ Eraser Webmaster of The Lancers Reactor E-Mail: eraser@lancersreactor.org MSN: eraser@lancersreactor.org <img src=´http://www.lancersreactor.org/t/i/lan_butt.gif ´>

Sorry for the long wait guys and galls, and especially for not letting you all know. But luckely we are back in business again and then some.... BTW, we are constantly working on things on the site. Some minor changes you probably won´t notice and some more noticable changes. For instance I changed the ´Search Forums´ button as you might have noticed as well as the FAQ, which has been changed into Rules and Regs (soon the content of that will be changed too) and I just changed the TLR shortcut and address bar icon. Stinger is currently working on cleaning up the forums by drastically reducing the amount of stickies and making it much more orderly and accessible. More changes are underway, but we´ll let you know from time to time what they are. ______________________________ Eraser Webmaster of The Lancers Reactor E-Mail: eraser@lancersreactor.org MSN: eraser@lancersreactor.org <img src=´http://www.lancersreactor.org/t/i/lan_butt.gif ´> Edited by - Eraser on 10/28/2004 1:00:24 PM

Yeah, it was Stinger´s idea to make the ´search´ function more visual, so I just did Oh, and I also changed FAQ into Rules and Regs and I just made it bigger and bold (thanks for the suggestion Codename).
