  • *FIX* MP Internet Connection Issues - FIREWALLS

    I have an NTL broadband connection which is on 24hrs per day but I still cannot see any MP servers when i look on the list, strange because it did work fine for a while. That freelancer.ini file is that altered for every mod you add as i noticed the port number is set in there What should it be set to??? 2300 2302 2400 tried running FL without any mods but still cannot see any servers DAMN and BLAST!!

    Yes I am getting same problem I think it is something to do with a Sec Patch i put on WinXP because before that I could connect OK. That patch must have blocked the port freelancer uses.

    Hmmm thanks chaps I was not aware of that web page The problem is i was able to connect for weeks with my USB to Ethernet NTL connection no probs at all So if i had never been able to connect with either my internal modem or permanet internet connection then i would have looked at a setup prob with my PC I have tried ringing NTL and they are stumped as well DAMN and BLAST!! BTW I have tried ping ing the ip addresses of these servers and i get a reply so that is really strange. So i am 99% sure it was that Security Patch on my XP PC.

    Hello Since i installed the latest security patch on my WinXP PC i cannot access any MP server!!! ARGHHHH getting shakes. I have tried installing ZoneAlarm and letting FL access internet through that but that did not work either Seems that sec patch must have blocked the UDP port FL uses Anybody got any ideas how I free up that port???

    Hello After installing a WinXP security patch I cannot get onto any MP server Cannot connect to any MP server seems to have blocked that UDP Port 2302 that Freelancer uses. Tried using Zonealarm as well and alowing Freelancer access to the internet but that did not work either. Anybody got any ideas??

    You are lucky you can access MP Servers I cannot still connect to any MP Server!!! DAMN and BLAST!! Tried using that ZoneAlarm setup Freelancer so it can access internet but still canot get onto any MP Servers. Turned off the XP built in firewall Is there anyway I can get that port 2302 free with ZoneAlarm??

    HMM hate to look gift horse in mouth but have Whitestar in SP game but tried to shoot backwards at got nowhere. Strange Whitestar has really good turrets but does no damage shooting backwards.

    Use that IONcross player editor it will give you any ship from original game e.g. Eagle also can edit shield as well. Can also change money as well

    Got V2 of mod and that dedicated Server but everytime I try to double click that WTS modthing it just comes up with an error message!!! ARGGHH!!

    Hello Chaps remember me The Saga of not being able to connect to any MP Server continuous I phoned NTL and they said they did not know why I could not connect to any MP server. Got IP address of French server and was able to ping it but could not connect to it DAMN and BLASTTT!!!

    I can play SP no problem at all moded and unmoded Tried removing mod and still cannot connect The problem seems to be with my PC I installed security patch for my WinXP PC and I guess that must have blocked the UDP port Freelancer uses.
