I have no idea if this might work, but has anyone tried scaling up the starsphere model?
AFAIK the starsphere's centre is connected to the ship to prevent you from going outside it (where you go, it goes).

I didn't look at the Excel file, I'm on a pc without Excel. -
FLEDIds is used for that, or something like that name.
You can make a new dll file and put your stuff in there, or find some empty spaces in the existing dlls.
There is an empty dll and a tutorial for it floating around somewhere here. -
I remember something about the system's 'visit' being 128 in universe.ini, thus stopping it from showing in the universe navmap too.
EDIT - No, I remember now that the system with planet Toledo is not visible in the universe map, but you can see the inside of the system.

Why is BBCode turned off when editing sigs?
I remember it was always on, because everyone (including me) had links in it.I made a cool php sig image that displays random images from my gallery and wanted to show it here.
Will it be turned on again?
For those interested, this is what my sig image looks like:
(If it's too large I can make it smaller) -
He's talking about displaying the clock that's on tlr's homepage as a web item on his desktop.
It sounds like since it has transparency, Windows is making the background a solid colour.
From my experience I have not had this problem with web items and transparency, maybe a screen shot and some extra info might help. -
What format exactly? (*.???) -> (*.cmp/*.3db)

Ok, I've kind of got it working, but before I go any further, who would actually use something like this?
Also, some help would be appreciated, as I'm not the best programmer out there, and those who are good at this sort of thing know it's hard learning a new language (programming that is).

The smilies were annoying me with their white dots around them (because they are on a dark background), so I erased the white pixels to make them look better.
It's up to admin if they want to use them, I don't mind either way.

Is this it?
I tried it and it seems to work.It is used for tradelanes, enter the first tradelande's co-ords (x,z,y), then the last lane's co-ords, and it tells you the rotation to give the lanes so they all line up.
It's a batch file with a .cpp source.

No, Freelancer only makes the NPC's that are in your system, the other systems are empty, so if you tried to follow one, it wouldn't be there on the other side; the system you exited would be emptied and the next system would populate at the same time.
By the time you went through the gate, the NPC would be 'deleted' (sort of) when it went through the gate.
Even if you went through at the EXACT same time, it still would not be in the next system, because FL has different zones with different encounter settings in each system, and the probability that an NPC on the other side had the same random name and ship as the one you followed, is very, very small.
It can be done in missions, because the NPC's aren't random, they're scripted.

I don't know if it's possible, but it would be a nasty thing to do to someone.
Imagine if you were playing online and it was shot at you, how would you defend yourself? If it were possible, the thrusters would probably still work anyway.

They had a site when I just checked, albeit a bit boring.
Some nice ones are at http://www.oswd.org/.
Click "Search All Designs" on the left to set your options such as main colour, validation, columns and even whether or not it uses images.
One simple design I found there was http://www.oswd.org/design/preview/id/3627, it would look nicer with some bright pics around, especially the heading.Hope this helps.

The only problem I can think of is having mission zones in/near the planet.
If you have played X2 or X3, you will see the planets sometimes cover 1/3 of the screen, but are too far away to actually fly to (I guess you could get there eventually, they are actual spheres)
That's more realistic, but LOD is a problem, and so is how big the planets need to be.The way I see it, the easiest(?) way to do it (considering LOD ranges) could be to make an image of the planet on the starsphere or system background and create a "shuttle" station that would show a planet base landscape when you dock.
But you couldn't make a rotating planet if you did that, and it would be a lot of work. -
How would I go about making a very simple Maxscript Exporter for Gmax?
It would only need to export this info:- Position (x,y,z)
- Object Name
- Object Type
- Size (Only for Planets/Suns)
I'm thinking of making a system editor exporter/importer for gmax, since it's much easier to make a system in a 3d environment.
If we can get this to work, then it would be an idea to make lines into tradelanes and spheres into planets and suns.I haven't been here for a while, so I don't know if there are any new system editors.
PS: I liked the previous site theme better.
