Happy birthday Chips! Funny... I always pictured you as being my age... Meh I´m old <img src=smilies/icon_smile_sad.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> +++ out of cheese error - redo from start +++

Hehe well said Blackhole - Cheese became a premium item. I am also redoing from start <img src=smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> I simply dont have a lot of time to put into this stuff - RL comes first. +++ out of cheese error - redo from start +++

With current distribution of free time... Around about when tortoises come out of their boxes <img src=smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> Maybe a week or two after to allow for spoilt cabbage clean up <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> +++ out of cheese error - redo from start +++

Buck - I have to disagre with Argh here, that´s nothing to do with OpenSP i dont think - I havent got a network to test multiplayer on but do loopback via my router. I get those messages when i use a jumpgate/jumphole. I´m as certain as i can be that they are simply debug messages to show devs when a jump has taken place with CLI(&lt;n&gt<img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> (which i dont see) being the player index. Edit : CLI(33) is strange I spose but on an index starting at 1 (the host/server) then 32 players on top... +++ out of cheese error - redo from start +++ Edited by - anton on 10/14/2005 7:50:18 AM

Twex - The last unkown is 1 bye (see my posts in latter pages of original sur thread). It appears to be different in every sur and comes in this style : 32 bit word split as : BYTE unknown WORD identical_to_previous_offset_entry BYTE padding (always 00) I have a horrible feeling that its a bitfield. If you can help us finish this up... +++ out of cheese error - redo from start +++

Yes you can - I posted a modified common.dll sometime ago but the method is thus : Search in common.dll with your hex editor for fc_n_grp and you´ll find all the factions that are blocked from showing in the rep list. cover every letter of each faction name you wish to show with 00h effectively turning each into a NULL string. A similar trick can be done for the initial displayed faction if you have a nocd version of the exe. Search that for li_p_grp and 00h or change it to another faction. BTW it may be unwise to add a longer faction name here. Edit: Rereading this is not really what you are asking - in xml script you cannot do this. If you wanted to get technical python scripting would allow such a maneuver but would require that clients had python installed too i believe. It would also take more work than the reduced d/l size would be worth. +++ out of cheese error - redo from start +++ Edited by - anton on 10/12/2005 12:23:17 AM

This is true - normally i wouldn´t let M$ update anywhere near my drivers. That said and as much experience as i have with tampering with my PC it simply hadnt occured to me that the sound chip was not via untill i reinstalled last week. You know how very, very obvious things slip past... well any way i had benchmarked my drives while looking for further system tweaks or cheapish ways to improve performace and found that my ´cheap as chips´ 80GB secondary drive had 2x the raw access capability of my C: drive that came with the system (4yr old evesham machine)... swap and reinstall and take note of whats said on sound driver installation from mobo disk... read whats there not what you think is there... +++ out of cheese error - redo from start +++ Edited by - anton on 9/24/2005 9:50:37 AM

K, the collision boxes and parts of ship. Each part of the ship is named in the cmp file and has a coressponding section in the sur file. This i suspect is what calls out the names and causes spew if you kill the subgroups with ModelTool... A tool is in planning to rename sections in surs on Louva´s request from some time ago for the SDK. If i get a sane method working i´ll post it. +++ out of cheese error - redo from start +++

It can be done... it doesnt involve thn scripting however but a different shiparch.ini setting. i forgrt what tho so search through lancers with google or possibly better save the newbie threads (chips and accushots) to disk and use windows search on them. i´m sure thats where i learnt it. +++ out of cheese error - redo from start +++

Not actually added as a seperate entry. Changing the entry type = GUNBOAT in shiparch.ini to type = CRUISER is best option. +++ out of cheese error - redo from start +++

<font size=1 face="trebuchet ms"><BLOCKQUOTE><hr size=1 noshade>Anyway Argh that is really simple and I already knew how to do it in the frist place and forgot about the whole idea. <hr size=1 noshade></BLOCKQUOTE></font><font face=´trebuchet ms, Verdana, Arial, Helvetica´ size=2> You dont need to scream you sounded like a spoilt little girl right there ROFLMAO <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> +++ out of cheese error - redo from start +++

hey champs <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> unlikely without source to recmpile mate. alpha - you may be looking in wrong place. i followed your thinking a few months ago to no avail. i dont´t think whatever controls the tradelane speed is accessable through the disassembly diirectly, i think it is a hardwired constant that is referenced by address. so... what is needed is to debug ´live´ and find the correct value in memory, perhaps tested with a trainer type program. once certain then the offest can be found in the file itself... +++ out of cheese error - redo from start +++

-Trail-... surley your 15 by now? Please behave lil man. That aside it would be lovely to see the code finished and fully debugged. Then added to <img src=smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> +++ out of cheese erro
