Yes, and there's a mod out that makes killing Nomads increase your rep with every faction, including the Nomads. It's called Friendly Universe, if memory serves. Have a look at that if you want to learn to mod the Nomads to be friendly.

Been waiting on this to flourish for about 5+ years myself, and from what I've collected, still gotta use Milkshape :/ You can still do the old export to obj and import to MS, then export to CMP, but I don't know how the max exporter reacts to newer versions of 3DS. Might have to dig up 6, or even GMax.

Definately try reinstalling Freelancer first, sounds like something may have been corrupted. Did you install a mod, uninstall, then install a new one without refreshing your Freelancer install? That might have caused it. Or possibly an install time error caused corruption. Certainly a strange error to be sure. I've been running Vista Home Premium x64 since pretty much release, and never had any problems with Freelancer other than the well known broken MP.

Lots of mods have mountable cargopods now iirc. I could have sworn the latest beta of Rebalance did...but I'm not much of a trader, so never messed with the ships that use em, never seen em on-world, nor looked at the code to figure out how it was done. Also, thinking about it more, I might have an idea to get it working, if you wanna PM me what you have now, in FL formats, I can try playin around with it as it is. I've got lots of free time atm, so I can fiddle around with stuff. If not, that's...

Create the field, then create an exclusion zone in the center extending out as much as you want....several Omega and Tau systems have an asteroid ring in them, and even a Sigma system iirc. Playing through the story with Crossfire atm, so can't go looking around easily. If you still need help I'll fire up FL Explorer and see what I can come up with.

Wow that looks amazing...I'll definately be wedging this into whatever mod I happen to be playin SP with at the time...might just play a trader for the first time since Vanilla WAY back when...can't wait for a release, and kudos on an awesome model/texture job!

Saw your thread over on the starport, just not registered over there. Can't wait to see the finished product, been tweaking mods myself for personal SP use, as I don't have home net atm, and been thinking of building my own mod from scratch. FL Explorer is great, but to be able to see exactly how everything will look without having to fire the game up a dozen times an hour will be fantastic. Can't wait to see a release!

Strange, I've used FLHack with many different mods, never had a problem with it crashing. Most it's done is not load due to a highly modified Freelancer.exe, other than that smooth sailing. Currently running Rebalance 3.56, SP Console (dll), leveled engines (dll), ENBSeries (dll), and FLHack with no problems so far.

No sarcasm intended here: Make the folder. It should work, if npt chane FL Explorer's temp folder, if you can. I've been neck deep in CMPs and TXMs lately so don't remember, and not at my gaming system atm, so can't check.

Check to make sure the ini files aren't "read only". By default, FLMM will make every file added/modified read-only as to prevent errors from accidental edits that may arise when playing online.
