Privateer: The Reckoning OpenSP Beta v4.65 Feedback

Dan-01: The Longbow isn´t in the mod, sorry. As the Broadsword and Crossbow are gunships, and not cargo ships, cargo space is limited. And... When they were first added to the mod, they weren´t pilotable by the player. People wanted to be able to fly them, much as people love flying the Titan in standard Freelancer, so we made them flyable. If you´d like to increase the Orion´s armor, edit the "shiparch.ini" file with notepad, and change it´s "HP=" value. There are sever...

Rear Admiral Janet: Sorry for the late response, been rebuilding my computer from the case-up. (on a very limited budget) Credits are listed in FLMM´s mod window, just scroll down. And We´re glad you like it! Note: Anyone with access to the ftp site, I uploaded a ship-pack, that I asked Bob to test, but he hasn´t responded. Hopefully, if it runs without any bugs, then maybe I can get back to work on The Reckoning. Watch your 6!

Privateer: The Reckoning OpenSP Beta v4.65 Feedback

Yeah, I know, just thought it was strange that no one else has seen themself before now. Especially with all the complaints I had about not having Confed, Militia, Pirate, Retro, Mercenary, etcetera, labels on bases. I´d have thought they´d seen them the first day the mod was released. Go figure! Watch your 6!

Privateer: The Reckoning OpenSP Beta v4.65 Feedback

Almost everyone who´s credited with contributing to the mod is a Privateer IN the mod! Plenty have found Privateer Warzog, but you´re the first to report finding themself! (6 months for someone to find themself) <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> I kinda felt I owed everyone a little something special. Edit: One more note... Once anyone finds &quot;themself&quot; there´s no need to look anywhere else. The way FL works, each name is ONLY at one base....

Sir Spectre: Glad you like it. The Perry &amp; New Constantinople were done by Bob McDob and textured by lvocclta (Can´t ever remember how he spells it.) Can´t remember the name of the guy who did the Mining base... I think he also did the Tarsus. I´ve heard complaints about the high number of pirates, and other traffic, but it seemed like the best way to increase difficulty, without crippling the ships. The Centurion, and Galaxy, had been deemed to powerful, which is why I backed them off a ...

Quixotal: I´ve always had that problem with him, too. But, then again, Bob is a bit busy, to say the least. If you´ve ever been to the WC News´ forum, you´ll find that there are few, if any members who´ve posted more than Bob. (He´s got over 2,700 posts!) And it´s my understanding that he´s got his hands in several other Wing Commander/Privateer projects, besides this one. Watch your 6!

Privateer: The Reckoning OpenSP Beta v4.65 Feedback

The last version has the Gemini Sector, without tradelanes, but Freelancer doesn´t support Autopilot. It has some bugs caused by my computer. Speaking of which, I believe I may have discovered the reason, my ram module had a chip that has recently failed, completely. I´ve got a new module on order. If it solves the problem, I may get back into the mod, if Bob doesn´t mind. BTW-I´ve been playing with the Privateer Remake, WCU, and Vegastrike games, too. The Remake crew is definately into the ...

Privateer: The Reckoning OpenSP Beta v4.65 Feedback

Glad it helped! As I said, I´m unable to continue. In fact, I just got back on-line. My computer´s habit of corrupting files killed my modem. I narrowed the problem down to my computer corrupting several files of Nero, and they, in-turn, disabled my modem. If things ever turn around for me, I´m going to either build my own computer, or get another laptop. This POS HP is a real pain in the butt to live with! Watch your 6!

Privateer: The Reckoning OpenSP Beta v4.65 Feedback

The missions were removed when the Gemini Sector was created. I tried to modify the missions to work with Gemini, but they wouldn´t. As to which versions did what: Versions 1.## Added ships/weapons to the standard Freelancer game. Versions 2.## Added Privateer Commodities to the standard Freelancer game. Versions 3.## Modified Freelancer´s Universe to match the Gemini Sector. Versions 4.## Added the Gemini Sector, and removed the missions. There´s also a ship pack that will add several ships ...

Artimas_Maximus, JohnHawke is correct... The Freelancer Engine doesn´t allow that. The space voices were primarily designed for background chatter. And with the wierd format it uses, modifying it to meet Privateer standards has proven impossible. In theory, Privateer-like chatter can be done, but we´re talking almost 3000 .wav files. And first, we´ld have to cataloging the existing files... Find matching files in the Privateer game, or creating new ones... Swaping the new ones for the existin...

Privateer: The Reckoning OpenSP Beta v4.65 Feedback

I forgot to change the infocards when I changed the combat stats. And I forgot to change the bot/batts in the loadouts.ini file. The limit of 10 missiles was intentional, and has been in the last several releases. The FF and IR missiles do track, but if a target ship deploys countermeasures, they will lose tracking. These missiles are most effective at extremely close range, when there is less time to deploy decoys. My computer corrupts files, and I couldn´t get the repairs to take. (Part of th...

Privateer: The Reckoning OpenSP Beta v4.65 Feedback

Aaaarrrgggh! All of those are due to the corrupt files I´ve mentioned, before. The &quot;Mines going off in the asteroid fields&quot; is a great example. (There are NO MINES anywhere in the Gemini Sector!) Someone... ANYONE!?!! Needs to go through the mod, and uncorrupt/repair EVERY file. I´ve tried, and tried, but as soon as I repaired one, a dozen more become corrupt! (Which, BTW, is why I gave up!) My computer simply LOVES corrupting INI files. The method I used, that gave temporary results...

ECMs

I´ve tried ECM vs Ion Cannon... No-Go! Sucker still takes you out! Except for distance, another ship/object between you and the Ion Cannon, the only thing I´ve found that works every time against the Ion Cannon is the Shroud´s Invisibility mode. You can decloak long enough to launch a missile or two, or take out an enemy ship/turret, before Moose tells you that it´s locked on to you again. Once Moose yells at you, you´ve got 5-10 seconds before it blows you away! Watch your 6!

ECMs

1) Insert Disc #2 into your CD ROM 2) In the &quot;DOCS&quot; folder, you´ll find the Manual.PDF, and the QRC.PDF &quot;Quick Reference Card.&quot; 3) Here´s what the manual says about ECM: Electronic Countermeasures (ECM) Electronic countermeasures protect Alliance fighters from turrets found on enemy capital ships by scrambling sensors to prevent weapons lock. To activate ECM, press L. ECM has a limited duration before it must recharge. Watch your 6!

Changing of the Guard

Bob, Did you added them to: Commodities_per_faction.ini Goods.ini Market_Misc.ini LootProps.ini RMLootInfo.ini Faction_Prop.ini And depending on how you modified them, ShipArch.ini? As to the no Error/Spew messages, that means that you have a very basic setup error. Or, in plain English, you´ve asked Freelancer to do something it can´t, under any circumstances, do. Error/Spew messages are only generated when you do something the wrong way. This has been one of the more time consuming problems ...
