why is it that...?

I think the most dangerous and realistic battleships you will ever encounter were in Freespace 2, hands down. With their dozens of anti-fighter beam weapons and flak turrets it made it impossible to take out even a cruiser let alone a battleship, let alone the Colossus, propably the largest battleship every incorporated into a space sim.

did you actually read my post? it asked a simple question asking for the name of the beam weapon mod which is as general as you can get. It had nothing to do with technical problems or mod installation troubleshooting, which is where you sent the post to.

why do you think i posted this in the general forum? hmm, maybe because nobody reads any posts here? there´s like 100 times as many people in the general forums than there are here, bleh. As a moderator you could at least be A LITTLE helpful and actually answer my question instead of sending my post to forum purgatory.

Yes we need more people to get into the game, which im kickin ass in as off right now. PS: Register Exitilus, that game has it all, prolly the best door i ever played, outside of Trade Wars of course. BRE and FE are 1337 too <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> All you guys readings this come by the BBS, you will never have to much fun as with games like Exitilus, Barren Realms Elite, Falcons Eye, Legend of the Red Dragon. These games are Addictive as hell!!

adding in nomad ships - not possible at current stage (i think)

Nomad fighters are &quot;living&quot; ships which means they are organic in nature, and as a result you cant mount any equipment on them. If you want them to last longer just double or triple their hit points. Same goes for the three gun mounts, if you feel three gun mounts make the ship to weak, double or triple the damage of nomad weapons.

Levels of Each System

Aye the omega systems are insane, not only are you fighting against nothing but sabers and titans but you also have to navigate some nasty space with neutron stars that literally eat away at your hull if you get close, lots of radiation, lots of gas clouds, asteroids, etc, etc....very tough places to be, especially if you´re not friendly with the corsairs, red hassains and the outcasts.

Yup, just remember, each planet has 3 ships for sale while each station or battleship has only 1. So to enable the anubis on a station or planet you will have to disable one of the other ships currently for sale there in order for the anubis to appear in the ship dealer.

i noticed that in the weapon_equip.ini there are actual cloaking devices. The paramaters are lal there, with cloak time and decloak time, its only a matter of figuring out how to create a hardpoint to mount these cloaking devices.

Well i guess we shouldn´t have expected that much in terms of non-story related dialogue. In fact you guys should actually be thankfull that there is non-story dialogue at all. In every other game of its type, or in any RPG game for that matter, all conversations with NPC´s are handled through dialogue boxes where you select the appropriate responses. ABSOLUTE maximum speed possible in freelancer

ovbiously you dont travel that fast, it would instantly crash the game. No matter how fast you make your thrusters, the maximum speed your ship will fly in-game is 990. Yes it may say in the info box that your modified thruster has a speed of 5000 but in actuality you are only going 990. The trade lanes themselves go at 2000m/sec as i have tested this in correlation to how long it takes to fly the length of the trade lane using cruise engines which go at 300. Its simple math. Turrets and tactics

If you check the weapon_equip.ini file you will notice that every weapon has a auto_turret = flase option. I haven´t tried changing it to true yet to see if the turret will automatically fire at nearest opponents. you might wanna give it a try.
