Yet another question....................

So I can't get internet at my house ne more cuz my neighbors locked me out of their network (guess I finally got noticed hehe) So I would really like to mod my freelancer (I have the vanilla Version) So does ne one live in Tucson who can help me mod my freelancer or can ne one give me a DETAILED guide on how to mod the vanilla version of the game cuz I think that FL Discovery, the new order or the underverse mod would be effing AWESOME!!!!

Modding Freelancer is pretty straight forward. Basically all you need is:
Freelancer sdk
Freelancer error cheker
Freelancer explorer
and your imagination!
I wont go into any actual details on how to mod here since the ini files are pretty easy to read but if you do need detailed help, just go to the tutorials section of this forum.

Don´t forget FLed-Ids. You can modifiy infocards with reshacker too, but thats a real pain.

@TrentsFish: FLE often makes the mistake that the infocard is at a different number form the one that it adds in the ini and then you have to correct it manually. A real pain.

I do them 1st.. then use FLE.. then all i have to do is cut/paste the IDS from a .txt file with all my stuff in order..

Took me about a year to come up with that kinda pre planning though... many mistakes before that ;)
I too really hate doing IDS.. but its better than all planets showing Cambridge info.. lolz

I find the real "trick" to modding FL is have nice error free templates ie: weps/shields ect...
then make what you will from your "copys".. then when happy they all "should" work.. code them
into FL by simply cut/paste from your "worktxt" into the .ini's

and make lists.. they always come in handy.. Lancers Error checker does a fine job of listing "everything" valid,
better to have a .. lets say.. "lights" list at hand than trawling through all the data to find the one your after..
Takes some time to set up... but it saves hours of searching in the long run :D

But im an engineer by blood... Its just natural for me to pull everything apart and splay it all out in front of me
I can see clear then what im going to build with all my pieces in play.... works for me.. but we all different ;)

excellant idea .... I do the same for my modeling - work folder with layered, numbered folders inside - keeps separate copies of cmp's,mat's,and surs - separate files for milkshape saves... don't know why i never implemented that for other aspects of modding. ;)
