Yeah I think sliding is the same as strafing. Anougher advanced manuever I can think of off the top of my head that people used to do online alot was reverse thrust. BTW welcome to TLR!

Um....in SL, u strafe, not slide. I think sliding is when you´re not using any propulsion systems but when strafing, u are. Take Tachyon: The Fringe, for instance. The game allows the user to move sideways without using engines --> sliding. - -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- I´m not as think as you stoned I am.

Note you move sideways without using engines by thrusting in one direction, then cutting the engines, and turning, such that you keep moving in the direction of initial thrust, but you can point and fire in any direction. It´s good for swinging across a wall of turrents, or shooting at passing enemies while maintaining a set course. In SL, you strafe, which uses thrusters to push the craft sideways. Note in SL, strafing is near pointless... good for throwing off blindfire, but that´s about it. Sliding is a much more dramatic dynamic.

For the MW fans, the COD (Circle of death) is the easiest way to attack your enemy while making them aim considerably well to hit you. It´s so overused though it´s a n00b tactic more than anything else now. But strafing essentially is sliding...so just strafe and watch them try to aim at you...or they just turn on Blind Fire.
