Are you trying to use the No-CD hack? If your are, its illegal and you are indeed suppose to use the disk to play the game. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

I´m not entirely following what you are doing but I can tell you this. Sometimes when you deactivate a mod with the mod manager if the mod has its own dll file it don´t get removed and once in a while not all the backup files get put back or some are left in the folders... Usually this causes Freelancer to crash when you try to start a game after activating a new mod... If you don´t know which file or files get left behind... the thing I do is delete the Freelancer folder and my saved game files and then reinstall Freelancer... Problem fixed...
