Some minor notes. <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> The sphere doesn´t need a material library (it´s pitch black, after all). That particular .txm is in fact called by bh.ini to form the accretion disc and other effects (jets?). Making the well spin around its vertical axis creates the illusion of a hypnotizing whirlpool, very cool. <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> ring = Zone_BH, solarlackholeh.ini ==&gt;&gt; this produces a funky-looking CIRCULAR BAND of miniature accretion discs... there has to be another parameter (disc/plane?) to tie bh.ini into the big picture (and to add jets, which are currently MIA). Thanks for the TYPE pointer by the way, I was wondering why the thing kept disappearing on me. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

Nephilim, could you post the exact changes to make a blackhole in the New York system with all those special effects you listed? the matter that gets absorbed by the hole will emit radation, so you can add a radation field that kills you before you get whitin 30k.

Does anyone know why the texture is applied incorrectly to the black hole ring, or (more importantly) how to fix it? You can see several accretion discs along the span of the ring, but clearly only one is supposed to be used over the whole thing. On another note, is there a way to change the size of the well? I think it is way too big for its matching black hole core.

you cant reduce the size of the well, it is set at that size because it is the size of the 3d object. just remember though, the cores of blackholes are supposed to be even smaller theoretically, most are supposed to be the size of a basketball, the galaxy sized ones, the size of a house.
