Vanilla Freelancer

Now I think that everyone(except me) would agree that if freelancer crashes on loadup just after the title screen then you should delete autosave.fl and restart.fl and if that fails completely re-install freelancer.
The reason that i think this doesn't work in all conditions is this:
My Freelancer won't load, i have tryed the methods like deleting those autosave.fl and restart.fl files. I have also tryed completely re-installing freelancer several times!
I have had this problem for a couple of weeks now.
Could someone suggest another method?

Make sure you delete the actual Freelancer folder as well.
Because if i remember correctly, deinstall does not remove readonly files and the install won't install over readonly files.
And remove the \My Documents\Freelancer directory as well completely.

Re: Vanilla Freelancer

After months of not playing it, two days ago I finally managed to get it working again.
I don't know what I did to it that made it work, except for this:
I added a new user account on my computer (an Admin Account),
Then I installed Freelancer from that user, loaded it up and it just ran like it was supposed to!
