Solving Nav Map not available.

The Storyline endgame systems St02, St02c, St03 and St03b won’t reveal themselves on the nav map but instead the message “Nav Map” not available will be displayed.

This is “hard-coded” in Freelancer.exe.
At offset 0x 1D 2F 00 you will find the string St02c.
At offset 0x 1D 2F 08 you will find the string St03b.
At offset 0x 1D 2F 10 you will find the string St03.
At offset 0x 1D 2F 18 you will find the string St02.

These entries are responsible for the message: "Nav Map not available". This is why relocating the systems does not help and renaming them does help.
Replacing these strings with another string or “00” will make the nav map not available message go away.
All 4 entries can be replaced by the same entry, i.e. St02b.
Next you have to change the visit =128 entries in the Universe.ini for those systems to visit=0.
This might not yet reveal the systems completely as they are, because the objects in the systems might not have valid visit parameters and it might be necessary to visit again. So some have to be changed or added.

Replacing these strings with “00” or any other string has a drawback. It will generate flspew lines, for instance if you replace the strings with the non-existing string St02b you will get 8 lines of these:
Systems.cpp(3044) : *** WARNING: get_system(St02b) failed.
To avoid the flspew lines the repacement has to be “valid” system name, that has to be present in the universe.ini.
In this example this entry in the universe.ini is sufficient to take away the flspew lines:
[system]
nickname = St02b

If you are a FL Explorer user you need to do a little bit more:
Then the entry in universe.ini has to look like this:
[system]
nickname = St02b
file = systems\St02b\St02b.ini
pos = 16, 1
strid_name = 196657
In the Universe\Systems folder you need to create a folder named St02b.
In this folder you have to place a St02b.ini file. This file can be left empty inside, it’s presence is sufficient.

I hope that when you fix all the original bugs in Freelancer :lol: you put out a new patch, nice work Buck Danny. It's amazing how you come up with all these fixes.

Re: Solving Nav Map not available.

But you could also cover up other systems that way?

Re: Solving Nav Map not available.

Just replace one of the entries with the system's name that you want to cover.

Nice work, Buck Danny!

Btw will you or Louva-Deus ever release a new Unofficial Patch or FLSDK?

Well I can speak for myself, but I am not planning any update of the Unofficial Patch.
