I do not know why your reputation with Daumenn and Red Hessians dropped because it should not have done so. Your Daumenn reputation should have stayed the same while your Red Hessian reputation should have risen slightly. Are you sure that you did not do anything else in-between your Xeno killing? Also, location should have no affect on how your reputation is affected so it is probably just a coincidence. As for getting a better reputation with the Zoners unfortunately they do not offer mission. Since they are very friendly with the Xenos though, doing some mission for them against law-abiding factions should help. There is another way though if you are willing to spare some money and possibly time. Normally bribes will only move your reputation to the friendly threshold but there is a way to trick the game into maxing out your reputation. For this to work you will have to be friendly with at least one criminal faction. First of all, make sure that reputation with the Zoners is below three points above neutral. You can do this by destroying some of the storage containers under their bases. Now find a Freeport at which your friendly criminal faction is frequent. Keep docking and undocking until both the bartender and one of the members of the friendly criminal faction offers a Zoner bribe hack. Purchase both bribe without leaving the bar and your Zoner reputation will be maxed out allowing you to buy anything that you want from them.

If you´re hostile with the zoners, the only way to get them friendly again is to bribe. Check the bribe list at the top of the page for specific information. As for the Xenos, technically, they´re only friends with zoners (and they´re not even supposed to be allies, just neutral) but the rep system is alot more complicated than that. I don´t want to go in detail, but basically, what it means is if you kill xenos, you won´t necessarily get everyone else to be friendly. --------------------------------------------------------------------- <img src=´http://arhnet.4t.com/freelancerpic4.JPG ´>

well I´ve found myself in an odd spot, I´m actually above the bribe level with the Zoners, only slightly mind you, less than half a block, but none-the-less above it, meaning there IS a way...I´ve taken bribes for the Outcasts, Hackers, and Rogues, and I think that might be a factor, basically the only way to get better with the Zoners would be to bribe for fractions that killing makes bad with them, IOW mainly the Criminals...I think anyway...I don´t know how else I woulda gotten that sliver up.

That´s right; you can get back in good with the Zoners by doing things to please their friends. Here´s a complete list of Zoner empathy: Bounty Hunters 0.05 GMG 0.1 IMG 0.1 Lane Hackers 0.05 Unioners 0.1 Xenos 0.15 Anything you do for one of those factions (fly a mission for them, kill one of them, or bribe them) changes your reputation with the Zoners by the action times that number. Flying a mission for the Unioners, for example, improves your rep with them by about one full box, and thus improves rep with the Zoners by about 0.1 box. Same with bribing. Say your rep with the Xenos is four boxes into the negative, and you bribe them. That makes your rep with the Xenos six boxes into the positive, for a total swing of 10 boxes. Your rep with the Zoners increases by 10 * 0.15 = 1.5 boxes. (Note that everybody who dislikes the Xenos will decrease your rep with them similarly. The Liberty Navy hates the Xenos at a multiplier of 0.45, the highest anywhere in the game - so your 10-box bribe with the Xenos will cost you 4.5 boxes of rep with the Liberty Navy.) Also, positive and negative reps always max out at 9 boxes. The 10th box is only used during the SP campaign and indicates that the rep will never move no matter what you do. When you start mission 4, the Liberty cops go to -10 reputation, and will stay there no matter how many Rogues or Xenos you kill. However, after you end up in Kusari space, the game actually returns the Liberty factions to -9 reputation, and you actually can go kill enough Xenos and Rogues in Kepler and Galileo to get Liberty back to neutral.

Or, you could just edit your empathy.ini file, and delete all minus signs... That way, killing people makes you popular with them... If only Hitler knew this trick... <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> This reminded me of a pun: &quot;what´s a minus sign between me and you?&quot; <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> <img src=´http://www.vj.yu/img/ilustracije/Struktura/Vidovi/rod-avi.jpg ´><img src=´http://www.vj.yu/img/ilustracije/Simboli/cinovi/cin15_15.jpg ´> Careful what you wish... Thanks for the help. To MegaStar I only killed Xenos in New york sys &amp; Colorado (maybe Kepler too). Nothing wrong with that. In Bering+Hudson Systems my reputation with Red Hessians got only better. To Chetnik I do not cheet in freelancer by moving files and changing them, like i did in almost every other games I played, couse it makes playing freelancer boring like some cheater-mods. To T-hawk No I understand why I lost some of mine Zoners reputation Edited by - HornyJesus on 24-06-2003 12:19:22
