The WTS World Mod Final is not working, I´ve tried restoring backups, and that does nothing. It says it won´t proparly activate. What should I do? "Death to ZugZug!"

Here is what I do when a Mod don´t work. 1. Deactivate any Mods that are active in the Freelancer Mod Manager... 2. Start Windows Explorer 3. Delete all the files from these folders... not the folders themselves but the files inside these two folders...((these are your saved game files))... My Documents My Games Freelancer Accts Multiplayer and Singleplayer 4. Delete the Freelancer Folder... C: Program Files Microsoft Games Freelancer 5. Insert the Freelancer disk <img src=smilies/icon_smile_shock.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> and reinstall Freelancer... Activate the Mod again in the Freelancer Mod Manager and try again.... If it don´t work this time you may have a corrupt Mod File... Delete the Mod from the Freelancer Mod Manager ((there is a delete Mod button in the Mod Manager)) and download the Mod again and double left click on the flmod file and install the Mod into the Freelancer Mod Manager again... If your still having a problem Start from the beginning but this time uninstall the Mod Manager also....Delete all Mods when The Mod Manager Uninstall Routine asks if you want to delete the Mods... Then install the Mod again and start playing... Sometime this is the only way I have got Freelancer and Mods to work again is to Delete everything and start again... Reinstall everything... I also like to use the <A href=´http://www.lancersreactor.org/t/download/download.asp?id=721´ Target=_Blank> Freelancer SDK version 1.3... </a> the Freelancer SDK is a set of all the Freelancer files with error correction... Install the Freelancer SDK after installing Freelancer...it has an installer and by default will install the files into the Freelancer folder...

Having trouble with crashes? Errors in destinations? Okay - follow these SIMPLE rules, and most poeple will be fixed. This is NOT a help thread, we won´t sort your problems out with finding things or anything else, that is for the maker of the mod to do, HOWEVER, there are an ALARMING AMOUNT who don´t read the readme file for help, OR the mods don´t supply it. To get you working quickly - here is the fixes in general* 1. Please make sure you are using Freelancer Mod Manager Version 1.2 Beta 9 as most mods need this version. It contains instructions that previuos versions do not, and also options and other things. You can find this <A href=´http://www.lancersreactor.org/t/download/download.asp?id=747´ Target=_Blank><b>HERE </b></a> Okay - now install that if you haven´t already. Good stuff - you are about 3 steps away from working. Next - your mod won´t activate. Their is an error - something is missing. This means that thier is a discrepancy between your files and the mods. This can be from a previous mod that didn´t deactivate all the way to a space in a file (honest!). Their are two fixes to this problem: 1)<b> Reinstall FL </b>. I know - its gonna take 5 mins - is it worth it? Up to you - either play the mod or not <img src=smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>. So, yep - go to your freelancer gameFolder and DELETE the freelancer folder (default is c:program filesmicrosoft games). Once done, insert the CD and have reinstall. 2) <b>Use the Freelancer SDK </b>(not official) which contains all the ini files pre-decompressed by Louva Deus. He has also fixed many basic errors in the files, and although there is no proof it makes the game run smoother or better, personally - I still believe it doesn´t harm. this is also the &quot;cheap&quot; mans reinstall - as it gives you clean ini files without reinstalling <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>. You can download the SDK <A href=´http://www.lancersreactor.org/t/download/download.asp?id=747´ Target=_Blank><b>HERE </b></a> Once you download it, it uses an installer. Make sure its going to install to your Freelancer Folder. You need to make sure its path is your DATA folder, but by default its going to write to that anyway - see below picture for what i mean! <img src=´http://www.pathfinderstudios.com/PICTURES/SDK.JPG ´> Obviuosly its going to install to data folder, so i don´t need to select the data folder at all - otherwise it would make a folder called data inside the data folder! That would be stupid <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> Okay - so now you have a clean game. now activate the mod and it should work! 3. I CRASH WHEN LOADING. Okay - this is the most COMMON complaint at the moment. Crashing when loading up - splash screen then desktop. Okay - to fix this problem you need to do a few things for us <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> First - open FLMM and then go to the tools menu - here you will find the &quot;Delete autosave&quot; - click on that and delete it please <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>. <img src=´http://www.pathfinderstudios.com/PICTURES/FLMMautosave.JPG ´> Next - IN the same bit you will see the &quot;Open Save games folder&quot; - click on that as well. This opens up your save games (of which i have thousands here obviously - shows how often i do this) and then select them all and delete them <img src=´http://www.pathfinderstudios.com/PICTURES/savegames.JPG ´> The MOVE save games DOESN´T always work! So try this. Then - follow above - install the SDK or reinstall again and give it another go. Okay - other problems? Deactivation. IF ANY errors arise - then click on RESTORE backups in the tools part. It may automatically restore backups - but you can try this again. Personally - if something doesn´t deactivate properly - i just reinstall the game again. Sometimes files aren´t restored and it deletes them instead - this is when you have to reinstall - however, that will have been fixed in the first part <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> There we go - after that - have fun and enjoy. IF you crash whilst playing - try again. If you crash again, then please tell the modder. They cannot fix bugs without information though - so DO NOT BOTHER unless you are going to include: Where you were (system) Location? (at Fort Bush) Action? (Launching or docking with tradelanes etc). These are sooooo necessary. Also include if you were doing a mission, WHOM AGAINST??? there are thousands of reasons for crashes, but that info there narrows it down from looking through a few MILLION charactesr of text down to looking at a file containing only around 40 thousand instead. Trust me - some files have 60,000 lines in them, and a crash can be from something as small as a single spelling mistake - so as much info as possible is needed. Tell them your loadout, your ship, what you had for breakfast - EVERYTHING you can. If you crash on a base, were you launching, which room did you go to? what were you clicking on and other things - as this cuts it down from 8 files to just around 100 lines of text. See how helpful it is? There we go folks - stick to this and you should be working <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> however, please don´t post asking to find stuff - its NOT baked´s job to sort things out for everyone - its to moderate forums. You should email the creator or use their threads to get info about it, please don´t post here saying you cannot find stuff! <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> Well - I hope that helps everyone - and I hope people stop making threads about this - and start seeing this sticky!!! I have a little problem with the Large Train Mode. The game starts with no problems, i can go to the ship traader screen but when i click the select ship button the game crashes ... eney hope in fixing that little problem ?

Did you follow the large train tutorial which is about a year old? Cause if so - then its probabily that tutorial <img src=smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> Oh - and like i said, this isn´t a help thread, this is just outlining the most common crashes when using mods. There are hundreds of other reasons for crashes, including errors by the makers. however, these are common cause they can happen for ANY mod that is there. This is due to the save game nature, and the fact that FLMM doesn´t always restore files correctly. Now - if you can get to the shipdealer - then you have surpassed the problem page here...............and like I pointed out - its NOT bakedpotatos job to start fixing everyone elses mod. Ask the creator or others to do. Its THIER job if there is a problem with thier coding/mod - it is NOT for them to make something - then leave others to get it working for them. Post in general editing - or in the place you found the tutorial in the hopes of a reply (will be me if in the correct thread/tutorial <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>) - I will have a look at the train tutorial and see if i can spot an error somewhere Edited by - Chips on 3/3/2004 9:00:32 AM

I need help. For some reason, every time I activate a large mod or a mod with new systems, the game shuts down on me. I´ve tried restoring back-ups, but as a novice I have no idea what else I can do. Can anyone help, PLEASE!!??

Concerning &quot;The Order Needs You&quot; mod, the writer confirmed that several people have had the same problem, probably due to the fact that the mod was made using an older version of FLMM. However, rumor has it that beta 10 fixed the problem, so try it with beta 10. If the problem continues, Tyco mentioned he would update the mod when he had the time. I got the Freelancer Mod Manager 2.2.1 or one of those versions, but every time i try to enable the gundam missle mod, it doesnt work it says &quot;Error: FLMM has determined that ´Gundam Missile mod´ won´t properly activate. Ok guys don´t know if this is the right place for this but i have to ask because im looking to find a fixed version of the uber shield because trying to stop modders is a pain and uber only works against guns missles go past shield straight to hull! can anyone tell me how or give me a link to a fixed version of the uber shield for either server side or client side please?

Re: A Pathfinding Mod Hey... I saw a link to Ceylon´s Path-finding mod on the FLMM thread... but when I tried to downlaod, I got a Page Not Found error... so I went to Google and searched the file name... Found one hit, I download and installed it.. If this is the same mod, it doesn´t work. Actually, it does the damn opposite of what it´s supposed to do... Supposedly, it´ll plan a &quot;Best Path&quot; using jumpholes as well as jump gates... so if I was in New Berlin and wanted to goto Omicron Alpha, it should plot a path using the jumpholes in the Omicron sectors.. Well, what I downloaded didn´t do that... To make matters worse, passing through waypoints, more often than not, did not clear the waypoints... Following the suggestions in here for Mod problems, I uninstalled both FLMM and Freelancer... I then reinstalled them both... The mod is still not working. Is there a mod that can do this? If not, could someone PLEASE make one.. lol.. Technopagn

Hi everyone, excuse me if my english its not good, im mexican : ), well, i download the Monkeys 1.1 Mod, and when i play it, in the game doesn&#180;t apppear letters, instead, appears Id?, or something like that, and in the Main Menu, where is New Game, Load Game, etc, there is nothing of letters, so its a little bit confuse to play. Anyone can help me?

I got this message in flmm, when I want to activate a mod. Error: Unable to find dest ´movie_file = moviesMGS_Logo_Final.wmv´(...) in ´E:freelanc1exefreelancer.ini´ The file (wmv) and the line in the .ini are exist.

i have a fe mods with probs okay here goes number uno when i install the mod and select new game i crashes to the desktop number 2 in the mod chipsopensp when freelancer mod manager is starts up it tells me that some mods didn´t load up properly so i check the log and it says: unable to load mod! parsing error on line 4125: no &lt;/data&gt; found (in ´C: programfilesfreelancermodmanagerchipsopenspversionscript.xml so i go to script.xml and near the bottom it saysi tag ´script´ does not match the start tag ´data´ error processing resource ´file: /// C: / program files/ freelancermodmanager/mods/chipsopenspversion/script.xml´ line 4125 position 3 so pleease help oh i froget to say i have emailed the maker whos email adress i could find but its been a while so.....
