Ok here´s 2 files for those who have no idea how to start editing systems.. <A href=´http://pages.infinit.net/psycad/freelancer/GettingStarted.txt´ Target=_Blank>GettingStarted.txt</a> <A href=´http://pages.infinit.net/psycad/freelancer/MyMod.zip´ Target=_Blank>MyMod.zip</a> I suggest you read carefully the text file. As for a zoom, like I mentionned in my very first post, I dont think I could accomplish that, or a sidewindow..

Hey thanks for the fix it worked. I don´t know if you can do this but have you considered putting in a shortcut to start freelancer right there, like Far Cry editor, maybe putting you directly in the system you´re editing?

you can doublie click on a system to check its coordinates. System coordinates for the universe map are located in the universe.ini (you can also move systems on the universe map using the arrow keys) And I dont think a Launch Freelancer button is necessary, since you have to activate the mod, and possibly start a server.. when I make a planet there is a entry for baces but on the dropdown there are no rooms for the baces ( or are there and I´m not seeing it ?) How do I go about adding rooms such as a bar or equipment room? Would I need another mod editor or can I use this one? Blessed Be to all those that still dream of the flight to the stars.

Hi PsyCadelik, Super work, well done and keep it up for those that need your utilities. There are some wishful people out there, aren´t there! I know you´re not in a position to tell them so maybe I can give them this hint: If you don´t know what it´s for guys, it ain´t for you - so leave it alone! Asking for stuff that you will never use or that take the utility beyond what it´s meant to do is just a waste of the designer´s time. Don´t complicate it for the guys that really need his help and time. Well done Psy Roleplay: the art of self-deception.

Well, I have looked at this editor but have not used it yet. One thing I did notice was that my mod does not show up in the editor . It might be a good idea to make it possible to get mod data into the editor. That way the product can be used with existing mods. If there is a way to do this then I must have missed it. This brings up another little problem. The interface needs to be more user friendly. I see that with version 2 you have already been working on this. Generally, this looks like a fine start on a very useful tool. Thank you for your effort and keep up the good work.

I did not want the program to load any game or mod files automatically, that could have caused some real problems. The program uses a duplicate of the original universe located in the program´s folders. ex: ../Freelaner System Editor/Universe/Systems/Li01/.. including a universe.ini You can open any system ini file ex: &quot;Li01.ini&quot; and edit that system. Pay attention to the directories in the program. And do you wonder why you have a system called &quot;Psy01&quot; ? hehe Edited by - PsyCadelik on 1/29/2005 8:56:53 AM

This program looks great! A few things that might need a fix when you gonna make v0.3: 1) The program seems to show the system at a fixed 1:1 scale. If a system is larger in the game (E.g ´NavMapScale = 0.8´,), some parts aren´t shown. 2) The program seems to show ELLIPSOID zones as if they are circles, which they´re not, and only shows two fields for the size properties, while there are 3 values needed (´size = 18000, 9000, 12000´)

Hi Blackhole0. Umm - know what you mean! How about a compromise that would help everyone out - would you look at writing an editor for bases etc instead of systems? See above. Just a wishful thought! Roleplay: the art of self-deception.

hmmmmm... Well, i WAS going to include a base editor... of sorts... in my system editor... so yeah i guess i´ll go check out the INI files <img src=smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>. Maybe Psycadelik will be generous enough to pop it in his program.... he´d probably have to execute a SHELL command in order to run it as a seperate EXE.... Hey Psycadelik, what´re you using to make this editor? VB6? C++? .Net? i use VB6. _________________________________________________ when your computer screen suddenly has &quot;virus = very yes&quot; spread across it, i think you´ve got a problem &gt;<img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

AAAAIIIIEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! WTF IS IN THOSE INI FILES? Uhhhhh heh.... i seem to have encountered a minor problem.... the base files have a line of unreadable code, (which always starts with &quot;BIN&quot<img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>, and even if i can work around that i hit a brick wall in the room INI files. They are a MESS.... 4 to 5 lines of strange charecters (unreadable code) and then lots and lots of jumbled up words. If you guys want an editor, you gotta tell me what the ruddy h*ll those bits of unreadable code do (i can handle the messy words, its just that... well... they´re messy!). _________________________________________________ when your computer screen suddenly has &quot;virus = very yes&quot; spread across it, i think you´ve got a problem &gt;<img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

Blackhole0 : I wouldnt mind including it if its good enough <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> And im using VB6. (the forms/modules or a exe) Moonhead : Thanks for that report, ill do my best to include a mapscale option, and I already fixed the ellipsoids and the 3 values. thx I also made a generator, where you can specify the number of planets and stars, and the related zones will be generated as well.
