Strange, I can never get the mod to work... Even after a fresh freelancer install, as soon as I try to join the (LAN) server running the mod, I get an instant CTD (Crash to Desktop). I take it this is a problem my end, from the absence of any other similar posts... Any ideas on the problem? The server runs fine until I try and join it. Thanks, L.D. - Would be a big shame to miss out on this mod, It sounds awesome... P.S. - Computer is easily able to run Freelancer on full graphics and settings. No other mods running.

wow This mod looks fantastic, any idea on the timeline before release. The mod I was playing on has just closed due to trouble between a couple of the admins and I´m looking for a new mod to bring my Police clan onto, So will you be allowing separate clans besides those listed above?

Well, i extracted the textures and...... they work fine lol. No need to flip them, well i didn´t have to anyway so finally got a proper earth texture in our Earth system <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> I´ll credit you with the borrowed textures when we finally release the Galactica Hellgate mod! Looks good when it spins as well...

Nope, ´fraid not... Although, I havn´t had the most time to try it - I got an E-Mail from someone (sorry for whoever it was), but I don´t know who...So when I get the chance. Update, sort of. I have not worked on the mod for quite some time, not even read in these forums. Star Wars Battlefront and Republic Commando, and even finally Anarchy Online caught my attention. That doesn´t mean it´s cancelled, all files are still there. Just don´t expect more than what might come in the future. Even if not, the fact that I could help some of you with custom planets, dynamic asteroid fields etc. was well worth the effort. I will keep you up to date as soon as I continue the actual work. And in the meantime, go to www.ioncross.com and try out their fantastic mod that has been finished recently. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

Just a thought for when you decide to get back on track with this mod and do some more, have you looked into the Kuiper Belt region that astronomers have been studying since 1990. It begins just inside Pluto´s orbit and includes numerous small asteroid and some larger almost planet size ones (two names frequently mentioned are Quaoar which about half the size of Pluto and Sedna which is nearly as big as Pluto itself). In fact, because of the discovery of the Kuiper Belt, debates are on at the moment as to whether Pluto classify´s as a real planet or not any more, or whether it is really just a larger Kuiper Belt Object itself (it does have all of the properties of a KBO). It would make an interresting region for people to visit in your mod. A quick search on the net should produce several pages regarding the Kuiper Belt (also known as the Trans-Neptunian´s). Just a suggestion depending on how complete you want to make the solar system. <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

The system itself already is complete. The planets, asteroids etc. are DONE. I had even started building bases (starting with the more interesting ones). It´s not about ideas. It´s about my time. My time is limited, and as you can imagine I also want to play some games; Freelancer Total War Mod, Anarchy Online, SW Battlefront, SW RC = long list, not much time <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>. It hasn´t been fully cancelled, probably just paused for now. I have no idea for when I will continue, but I hope to do so *at least* from the mid of June on, when I have 1 1/2 months of total free time... <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

i get the same ctd as lethal,any news how to get it to work. i made my own server,lan ,and still no go,gets to the load character as bam,good ol windows. i really want to see this,as its the most best thing i seen (pictures) and want to experience this mod because i had the same idea of creating a real sized solar system using fl systems as a base for single planets etc. then i saw this mod was here and looks stunning,and i maybe want to make a mod using it (credits of course) to the creator and cant even view it at all. so...lethal or anyone,any sinilar hangups.normal mp works fine i can create a server,and join others servers but i cannot hoast this mod. ok deleted the mod and reinstalled the first un-updated version and it ran a treat,breath taking,and lonely,you can almost feel the coldness of space.wonderful asteroids,earth seemed small but why dont the planets turn,anyone. not even in the regular game do my planets spin,i thought it was the game till i checked out the vega planet mod. let me look at experimenting with theplanet textures,i am a graphic artist so i can paint jupiter etc,no need for photos only for reference ; ) so maybe it was the update causing the prob Edited by - jojimbo on 4/30/2005 4:01:57 PM

Hey Meph Your work on this solar system is just plain amazing! Celestia doesn´t even come close! I keep flying to different planets just to look at them. I wish there were bases to land on and missions to pick up. Are you absolutely sure you´re through with this mod? You could have been on Microsoft´s payrol to do a prequel with this thing. I know you´ve moved on to other games but it would be nice if you or someone else could add to this one. It seems like the really hard stuff is finished but I know nothing about creating bases and factions. Even if this is as far as it goes, You did an excellent job and thanks from all of us Freelancers!

Hmm... Got an email today asking about some code... which actually forced me to open the old, still-exisiting mod folder. Maybe it´s just nostalgic feelings, but I am tempted to resume working on the mod. However, I do not have nearly the time that I had in earlier days, now. I might continue the project (yes I´ve just read that you can see planets from very far with some changes... Which would at least make the larger planet sectors way better!), however, I do not think I would be able to finish it anytime soon on my own. That means, if, *if*, IF there is still interest, both in getting the mod into your hands, and in helping me with building it, feel free to post here or email at meph.ioncross@gmx.net As far as continuing it all on my own, this is a no-go. Simply not enough time, especially since SW Battelfront 2 is coming out soon...

Earth seems small, because Jupiter is so large. All planets and moons are in correct proportion! I can´t go too large with Jupiter, and since it´s the largest object, it is my reference. Oh and planets do not turn, and never will until I have better models. They are sphere-mapped custom spheres, and you can always see the edge of the texture, cuz FL isn´t mapping them very well. Thus all planets are orientated in a way to hide that line in the shadow. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>
