What you really need to do is read Then, once that is done, I would suggest you try this, which should fit the bill

I have done that, but FLE has bugs and I can never get into my system without freelancer shutting down on me. (maybe I should find a newer version without bugs)

Dude, you need to take baby steps here....FLE is a guide tool. You can build a bare balls system wit hit. but you HAVE to leanr to edit the .ini´s yourself. Yes FLE has bugs, but i can make a system and not have an issue at all.... BEFORE you even start making a system you need to leanr the BASICS of the system mechanics and what EACH: Zone Planet Field Encounter Patrol...etc..etc does BEFORE jumping in and trying to build a mod. This site has a plethora of knowladge from gifted modders. You honestly need to take a week or 2 reading the vast amount of threads posted about system creation and learn the "how to´s" of modding. I hate to sound rude, but if you are too lazy to learn the basis then leave the mods to the experts and just play em. Or maybe have someone build a mod FOR you to YOUR specs. I have been working on my mod for about a year or more now and i am STILL learning all the ins and outs of the freelancer engine. It is a VERY versitile game to mod BUT and i STRESS this to a max here...YOU GOTTA CRAWL BEFORE YOU RUN! read the thread that chips so locingly put together it has EVERYTHING you´ll ever need to know!!!! Goodluck! "To live is to die....but living is to die slowly..why waste time on trivial things just play as hard as you can"

1. There isn´t any program that´s a magical, "create whatever I want in Freelancer" solution. No matter what it is, modding FL requires that you understand the scripts that run underneath it all... and that requires that you do some reading, experimentation, and some hard work. 2. Like all powerful tools, FLE can work very well- if you know what you´re doing with it . You cannot just expect to sit down and whip out Systems, though. Chances are... your problems with your new System(s) are being caused by coding errors introduced because you used FLE incorrectly. Yes, there are several versions of FLE around... and the latest version is considerably improved over previous ones, so get the latest one. But it´s not perfect, and it´s certainly not going to do what you want if you do not know how to get down-and-dirty with the INI scripts that it creates. In short... FLE, while useful, is not a substitute for coding skill . So... I would advise you to go back to Square One. Start by downloading the FL SDK (version 1.5 is the latest)... and then try a few simple experiments, such as changing the position of Manhatten, the angle of its docking rings, etc. Once you understand the basics of INI editing... please take awhile and study the INIs that are essential to working with FLE, namely: Systems.ini Mbases.ini YourSystemPrefixHere(this could be anything).ini Goods.ini Weapon_good.ini And then the detailed underpinnings, such as the scripts for Bases and Rooms. You cannot just download a tool and make a great mod... we´re all hoping that you have what it takes, but if you expected it to be that simple... you´re just going to be disappointed. Think your task through, grit your teeth, and get reading- you will be much more likely to succeed, believe me

Sure, ive just begun to mod too, and ive had a look at all the ini files etc. I use Freelancer Explorer as a more of a "visual aid" when i cant be bothered to type out all the individual system things etc. Ive made some really really good looking systems combining FLE and just basic .ini file editing. Im currently working on a system mod, and all the people in the bars are students from my year, and the AI is looking pretty good. My character "Andrew Antoniades" (its my real name) is pretty much in bar you go to, and gives advice and information about the system. Ive used Tobias as the skin.
