Freelancer is my favourite space-sim-lite game. Perfect pacing and balance between complexity and accessibility within a very fun package and in a relatable world/universe with very cool progression systems and exploration. Perfectly scoped to keep you playing and not get bored. I love Freelancer, very highly recommended.

i play Freelancer from 2004 and i still play it. no 1 other game is so long played from players and it still the best Sci-Fi game for me. thanks for work on it. i realy cant wait for this storyline.

for a game as old as this, i seem to always find myself coming back to it at the end of the day. now if only Microsoft would reinstate the sequel.

Brilliant game played it for well over 10 years now and still not bored Love it never gets old definately ahead of its time Shame there isnt any space games out there that are just as good would love to get a remasterd version if they ever decided to make one! would definatly Recommend !

The thing I dislike about Freelancer is the combat. It feels more like a arcade tunnel driven shooter than a space dogfight. Combat becomes just an overly obnoxious, repetitive question of, "Do you have enough shield and repair bots in your cargo hold?" And it really kills much of the fun, as enemies become more of an annoyance than any challenge. There aren't a lot of tactics to minimize getting hit. It's almost always a 3 vs 1 or worse. Which guarantees you will be flanked at all times during your dogfight, taking damage. Thus requiring you to just carry max repair and shield bots. And at later stages of game, that is all you are really needing money for. However, everything else about freelancer is pretty fantastic. Sometimes it doesn't always give the best - I am an explorer kind of feel. Unless you stick to the painful and slow to get to jumpholes. Which is another drawback for me. The speed of the ships just doesn't feel right either. And travel outside of designated space lanes can make the game drag. And just get you repeatedly jumped by annoying enemies. (The best space combat sim and mechanics, of all time, were contained in Tachyon: the Fringe by NovaLogic.)

The current version used on our server - if you wish, download it and test it for your own purposes (its Open SP, single player commands are available on discord) which is a very rough idea of what the mod is supposed to be. The last update for this version was back in August of 2018, and since then, we have made major modifications, and the game will look vastly different, yet still familiar. The reason we have published anything since is that we have troubles with the autoupdater, so we are trying to put as many changes and improvements in a single update as possible (while not over-crowding it to cause instability). If you are a returning player to Warzone, hope it can satisfy you until the Alpha build arrives, and if you are a completely new player to Warzone, I hope this will give you a taste for more!
