It is some what disappointing that you cannot do anything on the planets other than to admire the art work put into those... apes. However, what would you like to buy on these planets anyway? Bananas? It´s just an easteregg... don´t expect it to fill any real purpose.

Even if you do increase your rep with the apes, you wouldn´t suddenly be able to buy stuff from them; the game doesn´t work like that. You <i>always </i> see what they have available, but some items cannot be purchased if you aren´t on good enough terms with them; and they´ve got squat. The most you can do is get the apes to repair ship damage. The robot planet seems to offer repairs, but it won´t actually perform them.

Ahh, one should never count out monkey weaponry. Lets not forget the Planet Primus Mk3 Mod2 Poopflinger. One of the greatest stand-off weapons ever created. Not even the nomads will mess with a ship armed with one of these bad boys.
