My system is crashing shortly after opening the nav map. I'm unsure as to why, I've added some general things (bases, planets, trade lanes), and it happens.
Crashing shortly after opening Nav map.

check system paths

The answer is that you have more than 8 overlapping zones (usually nebulas or asteroids) in the x/z axis. The starmap looks straight down on the system (Y axis, from above) and if 9 or more overlap, instant CTD.
-
Hmm...Ok. I'll see what I can do.
Here is a FL explorer pics all of zones.
The biggest blue circle is the pop zone.See what you can find.
-
I see, nowhere do I see any chance of it being too many overlapping zones. The only way to verify if that is causing the problem is to get the hash value of each zone and delete all of them from the player file then try opening the starmap again. I have never seen any other reason for that specific crash (opening the starmap). If there is another cause for it then it would be nice if it could be figured out.
If you remove them and the crash goes away, then that only leaves your main blue pop zone as the culprit. It is the only one touching more than 8 other zones.
-
I'll remove the pop zone, and if that fixes it, then I'll split it into multiple zones.
-
Damn. Splitting it up didn't work. Must be something else.
-
Did you remove the hash code for that zone from the player file?
-
Hash code? Where and how?
-
And which player file are you referring to?
-
It depends on how you are running this, if it's multiplayer you will need to locate your account using Ioncross, it will give you the filename in the 'file editing' tab when editing your account. Also on that page it will allow you to delete a single line which is the easiest way of removing it. If it's single player you will need to use the FL char editor. You can find a hash/crc calculator on my site in the DB Software thread here <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://digitalbrilliance.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=183">http://digitalbrilliance.com/modules.ph ... opic&t=183</a><!-- m -->
simply type in the nickname of the zone and click calculate. Use the unsigned hash value. Find it in your player file and delete that specific line with the same hash. If it's SP simply resave your player file, if you used Ioncross, just save the file and unban yourself. -
It's on SP. And I'm starting a brand new game, will this effect it?
-
What do I do :?
-
If you have started a new game you just got rid of the problem for now. I would suggest flying around the system to see if the problem reappears. If not, then you may had a corrupted player file.
-
Nope, starting a new game doesn't fix it. Same problem.
-
Help me!
-
Have you ran FLError Checker on your MOD yet?
-
No. I'm still new to this system modding
Will do now.
-
Where do I download it :3
EDIT: Found it.

There's nothing to with zones or the nav map. There are couple of errors but they are only minor.
