New "Freelancer Rebalance Mod" by Michael D.

  • The race was nasty, but I just figured out why you included the class 7 shield with the Centurion, you might want to warn people that they get jumped, in neutral/friendly space, by very powerfull hostile fleets consisting of a rheinland battleship, some cruisers, missile ships and fighters. My radar was slow and I thought I could handle those 4 level 10 bogeys on my radar, it was too late when i finally figured out how those 4 ships chew through my shields and half my hull at the first pass... I thought i was in neutral Kyushu space :-/ Drat, I had just retrieved those nice guns, sunblaster B thingies, I had to be within 1048 metres (?) to see it on radar in the kyushu cloud, that is with your deep range sensors. I just need to find a safe place now, they surprised me but didn´t destroy me. The mission 6 rheinland fleet couldn´t even get my shield half down and i took all those out, maybe you might want to look into that sudden power differential. I´m just giving feedback as i´m replaying with your mod installed :-)

  • The bringer of ill news(again)... Michael Dan, I downloaded your latest Build3. De-activated and removed 05e from FLMM (I didn´t install Build2). The infocards and all looks fine now. No problems with names, except that the engines´ infocards supposed to show speeds of 0? Problems: Loaded a previous 05e savegame. I bought a full-load of optronics in a X-wing from Leeds. During the loading screen, FL crashed. I tried that again and it crashed too. Changed the X-wing to a Barracuda. Launched out of Leeds with nothing. Flew around for a few minutes and the game crashed. Somehow, I didn´t see any cruisers/gunboats/destroyers around (may be the cause of crashes; I don´t know). My rep turned hostile with the Bounty Hunters too. It was supposed to be neutral when I last finished. Looks like nobody on the message board has this problem, so I guess it may be just me! I will try to re-install FL and start from scratch to see if it solves the problem. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_sad.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> EDIT: It isn´t just me though.     Do you really think that Liberty Navy would just let their mighty battleships get dirty and full of scratchs? That wouldn`t look very good compared to Rheinland battleships. You know: firepower is nothing, image is everything. -mrfg

  • I feel ya´ dude. I´m all over that other board. U r not the only one, this whole version is essentially unplayable it seems. Oh well... LT will probly set it straight, but.. well I wrote enuf on the other board so check that one out.

  • As i said at the top of the page I´m saying it again : EVERYBODY PLEASE DOWNLOAD BOBBA FETT´S SLAVE1 FROM LAUNCHER REACTOR. DO NOT INSTALL THE MOD, JUST COPY THE SLAVE1 DIRECTORY FROM HIS ARCHIVE TO FREELANCER DATASHIPS DIRECTORY. please report if the game crashes anymore. the mod has support for his ship but since the ship does not exist in your ship directory it will cause random crashes

  • The next version I´ve already uploaded om Reactor contains the fix to the random crashes everybody its experiencing...it was de loadouts_special.ini file. please be patient till it posted, thanx very much and SORY for the mistake but the work was a little overwhelming for one person....

  • So Michael Dan, do the crashes have anything to do with the Slave1 ship not in the files? Cuz´ I was messing a bit with everything and still there were random crashes. When you said there was support for the Slave1, I didn´t think that it meant the ship was ESSENTIAL. Yeah, running a 1-man show is hard. Salutes to you and all the other modders out there. P.S. Do you think you can add in that A-wing? LoL.

  • yah this mod rocks but like rentacop says is there too much going on at once ?? does the creator have or need help ?? i like reynen mod but it doesnt give you the same ablity as this mod ! i would like to help email in an earlyer post . keep it comin. OK so i did both the quick walk arounds . neather or them fixed my problem . the ship may be there now BUT from the start of the game all menus are blank , then when in the game all info cards are blank as well as some ship icons dont show up as well as most planets baces and locations on the map have blank names . You people &quot;users not creator&quot; should worry about the crashing the game will do that when missing files but &quot;slave1 and loadouts_special.ini arnt the only files missing or messed up SO Michael Dan i hope thows files will be in the next update or u could just post what files and how there messed up so some of us can learn a littel more about the game ThnX Zyda

  • yeah i saw the Awing but need permision to included into my mod...everybody until version 0.5e4 is posted here on lancersreactor, please use Sam´s workaround...copy file loadouts_special.ini from version 0.5e2 into freelancer´s dataships directory.

  • I unfortunately have a problem with build 3. With it Freelancer won´t even load. It plays through the intro movies than crashes before it reaches the main menu, like it does if you have a save using a mod then get rid of the mod with out getting rid of the save. I tried deleting all my save but it still crashes. 0.5d and 0.5e build 1 work except for the name problem.

  • Stagmar, as I said at the top of the page, download the Slave1 mod from lancers reactor and copy the slave1 directory from the ziped file to your FL dataships dir, than copy the file loadouts_special.ini from version 0.5e2 to dataships direrctory of FL. that should fix it for now.

  • That´s fixed it MD, everything works ok now apart from crashing if you dock with the trade lanes in the kusari system when you launch just after you meet Lord what´s his name - wierd. The workaround is to take a mission from the bar and avoid the trade lanes. Anyway, brilliant work and fantastic support for problems it´s a pity Microsoft aren´t as good as you hehe.

  • Sorry I didn´t make myself clear enough. I moved the slave 1 stuff and loadoots_special.ini to the ships directory before I posted but it still crashes before the main menu.

  • Just a minor gripe about the game. Firstly I was saving my money for Slave 1 on Calif. minor. So I did a lot of jobs. Unfortunately, I couldn´t do anymore when I reached 100+ creds. This was in SP mind you, so I went ahead to see Juni. Was a little angry that I couldn´t get to buy it. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>. Anyway, reached the part where you ended up in Leeds. So I did jobs again and this time I reached 246+ credits which is enough to buy Slave 1. After that I was flying around Bretonia space trying to find where the heck is this BS Essex. After wandering around some time I finally found it in the Dublin system. Proceeded to dock and I was already thinking of how awesome it would be to finally use the ship. Alas, I couldn´t because it needed me to be level 10 or higher. Geez. What a wasted trip. The damn game should have a warning of not just that your creds are not enough when you can´t buy it but_ALSO_the level requirement. Usually the box for the avatar of a ship you can´t buy because of level restraint would be faded and it looks like you can´t click it but the Slave 1 avatar was like normal. Anyway, just needed to release this.   • Version 0.5e Build 4 still crashes for me, everytime a trade lane is just about to speed me up when I docked on it. I doubleclicked the FLMOD, then deactivated the 0.5e Build 2 (which I was running at the time), and activated 0.5e Build 4. It crashed the first time I tried to dock with a trade lane. Upset, I installed the Slave1 directory as you said into my ships folder, and still no luck. Please help!   • problems seems to be over.. although it was one base in the Kusari space (dunno system or basename) that made my server crash... as long as i stayed away from it... evrything is smooth <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

  • i dunno phroot, u seem the only one having the problem by now, as i said, try reinstalling FL or copying the files from Cab1.cab on FL cd to your instalation dir. OR, reinstal FL to another drive and tell FLMM that where drivedirectory is(in Options/Choose a different Freelancer directory mneu of FLMM). Also not only deactivate but remove completely from FLMM version 0.5e2 since its so bugged. Check the exe dir and look for file modinfo.dll, then edit freelancer.ini and look for it there. if does not appear, add the line DLL=modinfo.dll in the [resources section. I didn´t make modifications to the tradelane speed, it should not crash on docking...i dunno why this happens. make me sad though, since u´ve played and enjoyed my mod from the very begining. Radiation, U made the trip to Dublin too early, u should first complete the mission with Dr.Sinclairs rescue and then, when u get to lvl 10 Juny will send you to the Dublin system, the waypoints will get u there and BS Essex is just in your path. Stick around until doing missions u´re have enough cash to buy the Firespray. Edited by - Michael Dan on 05-05-2003 12:49:08

  • Yeah I realised that I went there too early Michael. I was just griping that the game should list that when I couldn´t buy it because of not enough credits, it should say ´not enough credits´_and_´you must be level 10 or higher to purchase this´. Anyway, it doesn´t matter anymore. I got the firespray. You can load a lot of guns on that ship and its bigger than a dromedary! <img src=smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>. I actually lost on the first try of the race with Hovis. Tried the second time and I won. I only cruised half of the course.
