TEMP MOD FEEDBACK

  • Hmm - worrying about the server crash, AND the trading probs! LOL - will sort that out soonish on the stuff, but its 3am and have not had too much of a break all day. Will sort those all out tomorrow - thanks Kirghiz! <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> Hmm - sounds like a loadouts prob out in Theta then! LOL Wonder who it might be this time - well - time to search search search! hee hee.

  • unfort, there is little to do about the power upgrades, apart from the fact that the LF will loose thruster power over the VHF by not having the right powerplant. I cannot actually sort this out unless i do something like make the powerplants use a certain amount of hold space, in increasing increments. At that point, holds have to get bigger, but then some medium powerplants upgrades (high end) would allow for someone to have a larger hold for VHF than they should. It might be possible, but would be facing some readjustments. If people think this is a issue that should be dealt with, then i will sort it, its not toooooo inconvienient! Shield is sorted by the way. As is cruise disruptors. Soon to be fixed are any guns that sell near NY too....... Dam - am a glutton for punishment. Anyways, have sorted out all but the crash just now. Will get on that tomorrow (oh - aint made a medium upgrade. mainly as this will 1) include changing some stats (take about one hour) tomorrow to ensure it will work, and 2) Because there aren´t any medium fighters actually - only LF, HF, and VHF. I always thought there were, but the hawk is LF! Hmm - will probs do that in fact, let me know if anyone wants that feature or not, and also any other probs.   • Well, as far as the mediums go, what´s in a name? If you have to make it a light or a heavy to make the medium equipment work here are some suggestions. The cougar could stand to turn a little quicker, but I like that torpedo. It has the class 6 guns of a heavy, but is armored like a light. So, is it a heavy or a light? I nearly took out a Liberty Dreadnought with it because of the Torpedo and speed to evade fire. I would have done it too, but it shot off my torpedo. LOL. It is truly a medium, if there ever was one. So, what can you do without killing that ship one way or the other? It would either be the best Light fighter or worst Heavy fighter, but that torpedo gives it the kick that makes you want to play it. Do what you will with it Chips, it´s your deal.   • one crash so far after 36 hrs of play chip ill send you the server errors in your email to look at last one crashed it i think also in florida system on the planet booted me when leaving the planet florida sector 5e gate on left side off planet did it twice so there n the trade lane from there to boarder station realy choppy thats the only ones i found but i only played 2hrs so far talk to you later mess with the best die like the rest or be terminated from the shadows

  • sorry term0shad, crashed you again. There is definitely a problem in Theta. I ran into 4 neutral nomads of all things, outside FP9, so it may involve nomad encounters. I recommend avoiding Theta until Chips locates the bug. Now, if only I can get out of Theta without term0shad banning me ;P

  • Hmm - maybe Omicron Theta just suffers from too much going on for the server to handle? I mean, i launch and to put it mildly there are hundreds of fighters around, and in three minutes there were 16 nomad fighters, a nomad battleship and about 20-30 bounty hunters and 20 Zoners. Now that is alot of fighters. It was reminicent of the storyline again - with lasers zinging all over the place!! Think i will tone it down a little - as it could just be too much load for the server to handle. IF not, i do think the nomads appear to often if nothing else. I got killed in my starflier. I am not sure that the patch (1.1) or iron cross are remotely compatible with this mod, too much has changed. That might cause some probs - not sure. Also - the mod contains a no cd patch - so not sure why it was giving readout errors from the CD on the crash readout

  • I noticed 2 different players get booted by the patch on term0shad´s server today for buying Rheinland Cap Ships. I am not sure why the patch would catch those and not the other Cap ships. When the server crashed in theta the second time there was maybe a half dozen Zoner ships around the Freeport, and 4 NEUTRAL (white) Nomads. I am convinced that, that is the cause. The server didn´t crash until I fired on them. In fact, it didn´t crash until I hit one. Right about when he would have gone hostile is when it crashed. That is a bit much when it comes to ships, I didn´t see that, but I think &quot;neutral nomads&quot; is your culprit. Edited by - Kirghiz on 16-11-2003 02:22:51

  • Thankyou. Still - the server should be unpatched for testing. I need to know what might cause crashes, not what it picks up as errors, as it might change some things and crash the server in a massive fit. Also - with the scope of people, there is nothing to let me know how many of them might be cheating as well - which could bring a server down. For all I really know it could be coincidence on the crash - ie, it crashed due to something else JUST as you shot. Nomads will appear neutral after or during the accetiping of missions.

  • I´ve had a couple more crashes mostly in Sigma 13 when thier are nomads in the area, the other was the same but in different sectors, nomads in the area and then it crashes. Only three times out of lots of encounters though. It was really cool once when I came out of the jumpgate thier was a Nomad Battleship on both side blasting away at me<img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> Is it possible to get Capital ships to be more agresive? because most of the time they just go right by, leaving me to fight the Nomads<img src=smilies/icon_smile_sad.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> And I still can´t get any names. I´ve been playing Multiplayer and the first missions are really long, until I can get better guns, but the increased mission pay makes it worth it, and it´s fun having to work for the money.   • Dammit - i never got crashes whilst doing the things - will have to look more into the systems files. This rings a bell of crashes i had a while ago in Rheinland (frankfurt to sig13 jumpgate to be precise). I removed lots of things, namely NPC ships of different types. If we can pick up a ´pattern´ of crashes, it helps. The thing is, if its Nomads that cause crashes, then u wouldn´t see any. They are all difficulty 19, and only have one loadout, so when you see one fighter, you see them all in effect. Same with gunboats and also battleships too!

  • i think it was the patch that crashed it ill check omicron theta n sigma tonight found 2 things minor but might want to fix your call chip gate in omicron theta 3/4 f/g no name goes to omicron alph 5/f no name in omicron alpa if you lock on to planet cariner to dock you die you have to lock onto gate but be careful you can still die must fly straight on due to gate at wierd angle when you enter it left side ring you enter the planets orbit for a sec or 2 an you die every time you lanch due to angle 7 deaths n have to teleport my self out mess with the best die like the rest or be terminated from the shadows Edited by - term0shad on 16-11-2003 05:59:33

  • ok for sure the prob with omicron theta is what you said chip to much stuff i sat there by the base watch them fight server crashed never shot or moved n i was the only person on the server at the time but boy that was a firer fight must of been atleast 50 fighters fighting at once then server crashed just to fly out it crashed twice with all the fighting go on at the time n cap ships take for ever to dock with trade lanes 5 to 10 min you might thing to give them faster cruise engines instead of screwing with jump gates if that easyer your the one that makes the call chip n when you dock some times get stuck at station all you have to do is log out n in and you can do what ever then n sigma 13 might be same prob but dont no for sure ill test it later but get the red comp in both system but that dont mean crap mess with the best die like the rest or be terminated from the shadows

  • Thanks Termoshad. Must move a docking ring further out then, will tone down the nomads in theta and do some other fiddling to the other systems!   • a list of new systems n how to get there would be helpful chip if you have that info handey so i can check them out for lag or crashes if any faster n list of new ships n where they r so i can test them too make sure there not buggey chip hide some stuff so you have to search for it in areas you would never go like in top corners n stuff where it would take you abit to find too if you can i always search a system out for stuff like that would be fun if you would but the rest seems fine so far mess with the best die like the rest or be terminated from the shadows Edited by - term0shad on 16-11-2003 21:35:10 Edited by - term0shad on 17-11-2003 03:19:21

  • Erm - systems (gonig to bed now as i have work in 4hours 30mins) Off of Frankfurt is the new rheinland system. Cannot miss it as i shifted a planet slightly to make way for the tradelane at a junction of tradelanes Off of galileo is the Guixiang? system - also off of honshu system. Yet again - look for the new tradelanes that were never there before New Liberty one is off of Magellan, LA, and also off of Texas. Cannot miss the tradelanes New Bretonian one is hidden - can be got to via Tau 31? (the one off of leeds) with the jumphole being 20k up and bottom left of the map (not too far from planet harris though - so about mid map?) - also is accessable through edinburgh - past the lux liner to find the jumphole i think......(or jumpgate - cannot remember) and in that system is the mine maze. Its tough - don´t think anyone will ever find the secret base (i removed all the bouys that guide you there - and then shifted them round in the ini file so you cannot just reactivate them - aint i nasty - lol). Ships - dunno - they are alll over hte place. Now the new planets bases are different. Found Mojave and also the one next to Planet Pitts i take it? there are another 6 of those around FL - you know of the one in Alpha i take it though - but there are 2 or 3 that are well hidden, and probs not known about either. Have you found all bases in the systems too? The Florida system has about 10 bases (4 are the planet though) and the other one has lots too......hehe. Have you found the jumphole to Sigma13 from Guixiang provence? - or the jumphole from Florida to Omega 3? Lots to find i think- including nomad fighter wrecks as well......hehe - keep searching, there is plenty if you look hard enough!
