Random Ship Script

  • Ok, a while back, and I may be dating myself with the new layout of the site and all. But there was a java script that I downloaded off the old Lancers Reactor called the Random Ship Script, or something to that effect. Basically what it did was neatly and as clean as possible, rearranged the ships in the game. It was compatible with pretty much ever mod on the site and was alot of fun to play with.

My reason for posting is that I lost all my freelancer mods/tools/development mod that I started due to XP deciding to format E: (where I had everything backed up) instead of C: and do the reinstall there. Needless to say, I was very angry. And now that I finally built up the strength to play freelancer again I've been looking for that script and haven't been able to find it. Any pointers as to where to actually find it would be of great help. Thank you.

  • Was it part of AluminumHaste's commodities randomiser perhaps?

I looked for you but could not find it here.

Or was the utility you remember for randomising the bases where ships are sold only?

  • I basically just chopped down the list of where the ships were located and rearranged them to different ship merchants around the game.

As for Aluminum Haste. The name does sound familiar, but that's cause I had a huge database of lancers mods backed up on my rig at the time.

I'm sorry, I can't remember any more information than that.

  • Here it is...

NOTE:- the market_ships.ini file included with it lists more than 3 ships for each base, you should check what it does with yours and if it makes more than 3 you need to delete the 4-n ships from each base.

And remember, ALWAYS back up your own files before doing this sort of stuff.

    Good luck out there.
