Reckoning Reactivated

 • Mini-update: Reckoning is up and running on my laptop, which is unfortunately a lot slower than my usual desktop, so things may proceed slower than otherwise. On the plus side, I have reworked the commodities; you can actually make money on cargo runs now (I made a clean 30,000 during a couple jaunts from Hector/Achilles to Helen). The Tarsus ... is still a piece of junk, but it has 50% more hit points, so with an afterburner you´ll have at least a fighting chance in it. The Ferret is larger and more expensive, and I´m moving it to InSys precinct stations (previously Militia bases) scattered throughout Gemini; same goes for Rapier. I´m also looking into toning down the number of encounters. Duriel also noticed a problem with the Junction system, so the next release may actually enable inter-quadrant play. Other plans: Replace the current merc/militia bases with the WCII Starbase model Replace the plethora of Ranger carriers with another ship (Exeter? Waterloo?) Replace standard Freelancer Transport Train with heavy transport (courtesy of Marc) Get an actual Raptor model for the Raptor I still haven´t found anyone to get a permanent fix on the junction systems; enthusiasm for Freelancer seems to have totally drained out. I´ll keep posted, as always.

 • Yeah, encounters are a bit high if you have several factions angry with you. If only one is angry, then they´re about right. But that brings up a point. I noticed that if I attack Pirates, everyone loves me including Kilrathi and Retros. If I attack Retros, everyone loves me including Kilrathi and Pirates. If I attack Kilrathi, everyone loves me including Pirates and Retros. Now I remember from the original Privateer the faction being F = Friendly; N = Neutral; H = Hostile. I never at any time had only one faction hating me. I was almost always Hostile with Kilrathi and Retros, and usually Pirates as well. A bit more evenness needs to be included. Remember in Righteous Fire, Retros and Kilrathi were allies. The bar on Perry Naval Base is always a CTD. As for Commodities, please include Uranium somewhere, I still haven´t found it to mine. Also, a few mining bases and refineries are missing some of the usual stuff they sold in Privateer and some of their prices are little low at times too. For instance iron and tungsten, in Privateer iron could be as high as 54 and tungsten as high as 76. Liquor is also too low priced in a few places. Grain is too high priced on many of the Agricultural worlds. Some of the Pleasure Planets had more to sell than just pets (and Artifacts ). I can´t remember, are "Books" available to buy on Oxford? I don´t recall seeing them. The Oxford starfield template, which if I recall correctly is the hidden system starfield in Freelancer, that starfield gets reused too many times in a number of systems. That tunnel effect looks great a few times, but the more you see it the more it´s obvious it doesn´t look as 3dimensional as the rest of the starfields. At one point, I was mining an asteroid field and looted Liquor , I wish I could remember where. I only point these out to hopefully aid in the fixing process. The great qualities far outweigh any problems and by no means am I demeaning this mod. This is an excellent mod! Sir S

Now we are engaged in a great civil disobedience testing whether that thread or any thread so conceived and so dedicated can long endure. We are met on a great forum of that nonsense. We have come to dedicate a portion of that forum as a final resting-place for those topics that gave of their importance that spam might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this ... blah blah blah, spam spam spam.
