Crash to desktop

  • Win98, DirectX9, GF4Ti4200/Detonator 30.82, SB Live! Demo worked fine, full version crashes after Freeport7 is blown up. Makes me VERY ANGRY I finally got it to let me play further, but now it always crashes when I wanna talk to NPCs in station bars... uninstalled game completely, reinstalled demo, reinstalled game, ran norton disk doctor, start new game: no crash? is that really POSSIBLE? well, it seems so Edited by - YuriEd on 15-03-2003 22:58:30

<Signature> in Freelancer it`s best to be neutral - like Switzerland :)

  • Ya I get random crashes, and sometimes i get them 20-30 mins apart. Pisses me off in multiplayer in the middle of a mission or trade run. :/ I check my tasks runnign and it says DXDiag is trying to run.....I dont understand how it just randomly decides to run DXdiag , and it only happens with Freelancer. :?

  • DxDiag runs when Freelancer crashes so it can prepare one of those cute error reports you could send back to Microsoft

  • Had similar problem, but it would crash midway through the 3rd mission. Just for giggles, I moved a bunch of stuff off the drive FL was installed on and freed up about 2g of space then defragged. No more problems. BTW: I´m running under XP Pro Corp.

  • I get the same problem, but it´s really weird... The game doesen´t exit, it stays running, but when I click on it on the START bar, it doesen´t go back in... I hear the music, but it´s stuck on the desktop. It doesen´t show in the Task Manager, so I have to go to Processes and end it from there and start the game back up. It happens rarely, though. Usually happens if I have Winamp open and/or an IE page present while the game is running. • Once in a VERY long while. And only after the game has played for hours straight. Come to think of it, Freelancer has crashed when I left IE running. My server has yet to crash. Athelon 1800XP MSI Fuzzy Logic Motherboard 640 Megs SDram Prophet 2 MX 32 Meg video card MX300 sound card. WinXP Pro
