"Best Looking" Place to Land

  • I hate the water planets. It looks like you land on an oil drilling platform. I like a couple in the Bretonian system. Cambridge and New London I think... Can´t remember for sure. And New Denver.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I`m sick of seeing all your signatures and not having one of my own
  • New Tokyo; but that´s just me. I tend to like the massive cities more that anything else. Although Malta has a good view, too. You can see the vast fields of cardamine grasses in the background, and they even rock back and forth with the wind; a nice addition. It almost looks like it was colored in with crayons...   • Personally, i love docking on New Tokyo, not because of the city but because of the awesome techno-ey song played when you land (ive undocked and docked several times just to hear that blissful sound)...second only to the race music on lvl 6. of course.
  • has to be crete...its just wow...
  • I´m not sure, but it may be New Tokyo that I love landing on... It´s New "Something" anyway... London perhaps? I dunno, basically it´s a massive city in the fog and the raining is POURING down... And it plays some cool techno/violin/weird music that is damn cool. My fav bar so far would be the one on the Blood Dragon Kyoto base in Chugoku (hidden system north of Honshu, but you´d already know that if you played thru most of SP). It looks like a medievil bar... Then again I onced landed on a Golden C. base and found myself quite fond of having found a space station filled with ONLY athletic young women in skin tight spacesuits... BTW, how come Trent is the ONLY man in the ENTIRE universe to own a leather jacket? Everybody else seems to prefer their full body suits that all look the same with different bits taped on for good effect...
  • um... i got to check that out man...  i personally find none of them too attractive. crete looks like some egyptian thingo-magigo.. place, with the clay houses and stuff. the kusari systems´ planets look like their filled with temple-towers and such. i personally think New Berlin´s nice, altho i won´t say no to crete or Leeds.. for some reason... but dun get to see Leeds on my 1.5 mil trade run... presently, my world is upside down, so if u do not mind, u´ll have to tok to my a$$
It has that dark and gloomy look i´m very fond of. And the continious rain of meteors in the background just look great. I also like the gothic cities in Bretonia. Very cool. ------------- <img src=´http://home.t-online.de/home/a…s/lancersreactorsmall.jpg ´> "Do not kill. Do not rape. Do not steal.   • For the longest time, I liked Planet Curacao  But I do have to say though, Vogtland Base and Planet Malta win major points for me, just because they looked nothing like what I expected (I figured Vogtland to look just like any other asteroid base, w/ no particular landing sequence ... and Malta to look all dark and evil and stuff)  Plus, the landing music for Malta is pretty heroic and neat
  • Vogtland Base, definitely. They´ve got a friggin´ skull on their docking bay! And the inside looks like some villain´s dungeon, with lava and all sorts of stuff. Way cool.
  • Yeah, exactly! I almost joined the Hessians right there and then, just because I was so taken aback by how unexpectedly cool their base was
  • Hey, is it just me or is it that Trent is the only person aside from the Interspace commerse people wearing anything remotely normal to our standards? Also, is it me or is it that Trent is the only person with a belt that looks real?
    cold in space. ~Khan, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
  • Mirax, yes I remember the planets in Privateer: The Darkening (and the ones in the original Privateer, for that matter). One of my favorites was the psychedelic planet...can´t remember its name but since I lived in San Francisco in the ´60s, it brought back fond--and weird--memories. :-) It´s better to burn out than to fade away
  • Crete was pretty interesting, noticed something odd about it too a few days ago. Went off for about half an hour to do homework while docked at Crete, and when I came back the sky had darkened from light blue to near black. Does it do this on all the planets? I wasn´t aware the backdrops had a weather system at all. Revenge, the planet you´re thinking of is New London. All of the Bretonian cities have that gothic look. Oh, and it´s rainy.
  • Tasiin, that´ an interesting observation and an interesting question. When I leave to eat or whatever, I usually leave it in a bar or hit pause, but next time I´ll leave it outside and see if there´s any light/weather change. If I recall correctly, New Berlin has a half year each night and day. Be interesting to see if *that* change happens. And if someone tries to reactivate The Ring (that story had me laughing out loud, literally). In any case, thanks for providing something else to check on. It´s better to burn out than to fade away
