At this point the tag system is either broken or buggy and needs to be fixed (and explained somehow). As an example, I once had a Xenos tag although I´d been slaughtering them for hours and they were (obviously) on full red. Some people say the tag changes only when you dock to a base and/or when you disconnect/reconnect to a server, but I´ve had my tag change on me inexplicably even in mid-flight.

issit even possible to get a tag in SP? i´ve been running missions for some factions so much that their enemies totally hate me and im STILL one block away from full green

So when you don´t have anyone around to look at you flying, is the way you see if you´re "tagged" by looking at which faction is flashing? If so, they seem to be pretty forgiving -- I was Navy for the longest time, even after I wasn´t even green with them and was wrecking them in order to win favour from the Outcasts/Rogues <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>
