Freelancer Rebalance 3.56

  • Hello,


    Anyone else having trouble making the regular single player campaign function with the latest version of Rebalance (3.56c or whatever)?


    I uninstalled the mods, the mod manager, and freelancer multiple times and then reinstalled them in the fashion that the Rebalance mod dictates and every time I try to activate and play the mod I end up in the Faction starting location, I am Level2, and I can't do the SP campaign.


    Yes, yes I told the mod during activation that I wanted the normal single player campaign, not OpenSP, or the Multiplayer.


    Anyone else? Or is this just me for some stupid reason?


    I am playing 3.55 final instead, as it lets me actually do the campaign......

    Follow all the instructions precisely, and you should be fine. I've run the story multiple times with 3.56rc3, so either your download is corrupted, you missed steps, or something else I can't think of right now is the problem...oh, make sure you delete Restart.fl in your sp savegame folder...try that first, in fact.

  • This is a really cool mod!! Ive been playing it for a week now, I just today upgraded from RC2 to RC3 (I downloaded the wrong version)


    Some problems that were in RC2 that I saw that I hope are fixed in RC3:


    1. random desktop crashes when entering a trade lane


    2. some battleships sell ships that are too big to exit the battleship and you have to reload.


    3. some ships are able to dock in places that you cant leave (for example, my favorite ship was the nebulon Ranger, I could dock almost anywhere, but the ship was to big to exit, and shook to death on exit)


    4. Having a chip for wingmen still caused you to get hailed, and then you had to drop it or get attacked by the wingmen. (haveing the super chip that let any faction be wingmen was death)



    Other then those issues RC2 was awsome, and hopfully RC3 fixes those issues.

    EDIT: Ok after some time playing RC3.. its almost unplayable, I dont mean to be rude.. but entering jump gates or trade lanes seem to 50% of the time crash to desktop.. I have also been playing discovery and fronterspace and these mods do not have these problems.. RC2 also has these problems but seems more stable then RC3, which is a shame as clearly a TON of work has gone into this mod..


    I hope that the team that made this mod looks at these issues, the jump problem and the comments I posted above (ie being able to land in stations you cant get out of, stations selling ships to big to exit, etc..)


    Its a great mod, but there are game breaking problems with it..

  • Does anyone know if the makers of this mod are still active? Are any mods still active? Im currently downloading a mod called crossfire, looks cool :)


    Hopefully that mod is still active.

  • thanks for the heads up about the problems with the Rebalance, i am keeping my mod load simple to start with and trying to learn about them as i go along.
