Any explanation of the "ban" on any MA18 rated games? What´s the thinking behind that posture? Edited by - Indy11 on 11/4/2004 7:30:09 PM
My fellow citizens, breath a collective sigh of relief

We dont actually have an MA 18+ rating for games (don´t ask why as I have no idea). So any games that fall into this category get banned. yaay! Go Aus!

Yay! *Performs happy dance* That´s a relief! Thanks Mustie. Indy - We don´t have an "R" rating here because there aren´t very many Australians with a mental age over 15 <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> <img src=smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>.

Well at least you folks are honest about it. Some of us seem to have a far more inflated opinion of ourselves. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

I once saw a sex simulator for the pc on sale in EB games and it had an R rating. Whats the deal with that? Is it because its not a "game"?

Well I saw "Manhunt" available for rent in a Video shop in Malvern. That was banned, so how can they rent it?
-
wasn´t this due last year?

They´ll only realease DVD-ROMs instead of the usual CD-ROM. I made a call to Vivendi about this and they confirmed it. Guess I have to buy a DVD-ROM player one of these days.

Ah yes, DVDs, I had the same problem... ah well, I have money to burn... (and I burnt a lot of it along with my old house)

all i got to say is...."god bless the USA" Luckily not much violent content gets banned here...so we can rip the heads off of people and love it....but yet they sell guns to people....don´t you think with OUT the fire power available...then the "graphic violence" you seen in the games would be QUITE difficult to reproduce in reality? (gun wise)? "To live is to die....but living is to die slowly..why waste time on trivial things just play as hard as you can"
