Weirdest Thing you have seen in Freelancer?

You can cruise right to some suns and take no or very little damage. Also works for some planets.

I once saw a Samura Train clipping through the upper tower of Gas Miner Ogashawa. It was just stuck there, I wish I had taken a pic. It was hilarious.

Wierdest thing that I saw was that "Unknown system" and the Monkey planet, and those monkeys in fancy suits.

The weirdest things in Freelancer are the smoke made by the chimneys of the bases going straigt up in the space as if it was air, the ridiculously huge docks in the freeports and bases compared to the rest of it, the asteroid fields so close of the suns and the impossible amount a gaz(if it´s gas anyway a ship can have to fly indefinetely. I was flying along in space one time -- not in a trade lane -- when suddenly I heard that sound of docking and a docking port appeared from nowhere and opened for me! A second or two later, I heard the sound again as I exited from that docking port. There wasn´t any station in sight and when I used the turret view to look behind me, there was nothing there. Welcome to the Twilight Zone! Spooky ...

Planet Primus (and the docking ring is called: Moneky planet docking ring) and Planet Gammu (Robot planet docking ring) and they are in the Unknown system (that is the exact name of the system). I came from the Omicron Gamma, and the jump hole is guarded by nomad fighters, and in the Unknown system are also nomad fighters.

I was taking a sort of stroll through Liberty, slicing up rogues in my Eagle, laughing at how inferior they were, and decided to land after getting some cargo. I headed for Manhattan because that was the closest place. Trade lane about half way, came out, engaged cruise drive to get round to the docking ring. I heard this crackling and burning sound and slowed to combat speed. I stopped, turned 180, and I saw a convoy of Trains (you know, the type that can carry 600,000 or something cargo) trying to take a shortcut through the atmosphere. As I watched, one broke up completely and so did another. The last two limped out, on fire and stuff. It was so so completely stupid I just hung there in space, watching the Trains trying to get out of the planet´s gravity well... Weird!

i had a bit of lag so when i exited the tradelane, the tradelane_effects were still there, wherever i turned my ship. the yellow rings followed me everywhere. some screenies somewhere... but i have over a gig of screenshots. in JPG format.... thats like 5 gigs in the default bitmap. anyway, it was pretty cool until my 56k caught up...

ya know what´s wierd in FL? there are only 3 people in all of the sirus sector who ahve unique outfits! Trent, the mann bartender, and jacobi. im not even 100% sure about jacobi tho. and no, tobias´s is a cryer phatrmaceuticals outfit. sure, hes one of 3 fat characters in the game, but its still a cryer. strange eh? Quite strange: I was flying above Manhattan, when some bounty hunters scanned me for cargo, found something and started to shoot at me. I in class 10 SVHF (evolutions mod) with best shields & everything took no damage from them, so I just ignored them. But after a while, they managed to hit a Liberty BS that was passing there. In the same moment, everything close shot them and maybe 8 BH ships got killed instantly by the Police. Second, i heard some NPC talking something like "Manhattan, our last deal there almost killed me!" and after that he went directly into atmosphere of Planet Manhattan and got killed.

lol, your stories are so random. One time, when I was flying in omicron gamma and a bounty hunter asked for my cargo, I refused, and instead of attacking me, he started to attack his own escort, it was so funny, I was looking at them killing each other inconsiously.

You have to love alliances. I had a massive battle take place around me because I wandered into rheinland controlled space during the SP campaign, and several companies that loved me were around to fight off the military. Kind of funny to see a transport and escorts valiantly attacking the tradelanes they are trying to use...

I once saw a unioner Pirate stop attacking a trade lane, and use it to reach planet hamburg. He was promptly destroyed by the Federal Police. Very weird. He must have evolved.

@Ghost1235: Tobias looks like he does, but in fact it´s actually a reverse. The whole map was flipped over for him, the cryer guys are the normal way.

That thing with trade lane effect remaining - it happens to me quite often when I enter the lane from 2nd ring. I am playing Evolutions NR mod, and that has increased speed in trade lanes, so this might be the cause, because it never happens to me in an unmodded game. Once I got 3 rings running around me and I was in the 4th in a (normal) tradelane Another one, that started as a normal Capital Ship war between someone (outcasts and corsairs IIRC) but after a while one cruiser shot its friendly battleship. Now I havent seen so much gunfire and massive explosions in a long time And some random quite strange things: - in an unmodded game after the storyline there is exactly one place in the universe where you can encounter a flying capital ship of any kind. - one liberty patrol pilot scanned me for cargo... and just after that the same pilot scanned me once again... just to be sure? - a lib rogue asked me to drop my cargo, when some another rogue said "Cardamine, cardamine, everybody loves cardamine" -- yes he wanted me to drop cardamine... - Tau-37 is the only system showing some signs of 3rd dimension - one of its suns is above the plane you normally fly. - next to the second sun in Tau-37 there is some "Unknown Object", you can target it contact list, sort by "all". - in some infocard (I dont remember which) it is written that gunboats are the smallest ships that are named. But (almost) each one wrecked ship has its own name. - the nav map is not the best representation of the systems position. If it was possible to view it as a tetraeder, or maybe octaeder, it would be almost completely symetric.

The funniest thing that happened to me was when I was in Omega 41 with Corsairs in Titans chasing me. I was in a Barracuda and therefore was slighly outgunned. I decided to fly into the bare area surrounding the Neutron Star. I kept getting closer to it and nothing happened to my ship. I didn´t melt or burn up as usual. Instead the Corsairs in Titans kept chasing me right into the bare area. They slowly melted and eventually blew up from the radiation. It was hilarious. - Supreme Commander J. The weirdedst thing that happened to me was when I was flying through New York, No tradelane and found my self outside zone 21, I watched as a bunch of LN ships flew straight into the mines and blew up (duh). I then flew into the mines and didnt take damage! For sum reason I had no mods on but the mines blew up but didnt hurt me! I was in a starflyer mind you.
