Better C/P Joystick

  • I use the Fanatec Twister. The base weighs nearly a kilo so it stays where I put it even in heavy combat. 4 buttons, tophat and throttle. Pity I can´t re-assign the twist to make the ship roll, that would be cool. I got it for nothing, a reviewers gift so I don´t know what the price is -- If I missile throw a Havoc at ya. -- My idea of an OS is one that operates the system, not a self contained package of every piece of software ever invented.

  • What´s wrong with the keyboard? I like the SAitek stick with the separate throttle. Very smooth, programmable. Runs about $100 -$120 US, I don´t know what it would go for where you are....

  • I use a Logitech Wingman Force... It works great for me. I have never felt a more comfortable or reliable stick in my life. Force Feedback stick anyway. I had tried the MS Force Feedback stick when it first came out... it was a pice of junk. Then I got the Wingman Force and I loved it... But if you don´t have some free desktop space (on your DESK not the computer Desktop) don´t get it, it is huge

  • Yeah....really huge, plus a 20VDC 1.5A power adaptor, I guess there are some powerful motor inside WinMan Force. Well, I think it will take me more day to suit force feedback....

  • The Wingman Force is a very powerful and quite possibly the best Force Feedback stick on the market today. There is a cheaper version of the Wingman Force called the Wingman Force 3D, It is not as powerful but it takes up alittle less then half the space the Wingman Force takes up. I have not personally tested the Wingman Force 3D but from what I read it is a descent Force Feedback stick. But if you want a really nice, precise, strong forcefeedback stick get the Logitech Wingman Force. I love it!

  • Thanks to all friend, now I really feel the power of WinMan Force. I just download the newest Winman Profile and adjust the strength of central spring to 30% (default is 100%), no more uncomfortable......

  • Oh my god! Ah those prices in Taiwanese money or US dollars. Man they are expensive. Anyways a joystick with at least 6 buttons is a must and a throttle and HAT.

  • Oh sorry, WingMan Force costs US$90 in Taiwan. By the way, SB Live costs US$60 and is the same as Duron-600

  • How about the SoudBlaster PCI 512 ? It´s basicly a stripped down SB Live! card, so you get all the good stuff. Though you will not be able to upgrade with LiveWare and have digital speakers connected. Though it supports up to 4 analogue speakers. The card is fairly new on the market, so you might have trouble finidng it yet. Price should be very competative! Best Regards Christian "Bargib" Koerner Editor in Chief, The Lancers Reactor

  • Oh Bargib, I think SB-512 might be delayed in my city´s PC market, waiting...... and do you know whether SB-512´s CPU utilization is quite small as SB Live or not?

  • Did any of you guys ever saw this stick? I am going to get one of those as soon as I see one. They claim you can set 250 functions on this system. 1 flight stick and one of those trottle sticks with buttons all over it on the right places. Ok it is a bit pricy $99.95 (US) but it sure will make you play like a mad dog once you get used to this. You do not need the keyboard no more. All is controlled with both hands. DSA Squadron Commander Dying Star Alliance
