Geforce FX-6600 Card problem

 • Sounds like HOW you upgrade the drivers could be the problem. It is essential to uninstall first your old drivers before installnig the new one. Just installing the news ones without uninstalling first does NOT work properly (ok: some guys are lucky and it works). I recommend you use a tool that cleans your registry before installing the new drivers. Be warned: make a safe-copy first. Nice and easy to use: CCleaner . A lot of people are having problems with the 6600GTs. As I read in another thread the NVidia drivers 66.81 seem to be the best for 6600 GT (though this is not at all the latest version it is sais to be the most stable for 6600GT). Believe it or not but the site admin of cncden was downgrading from a 6600GT to a 4200 because he did not succeed to run CnC Zero Hour properly on his system. Link Edited by - zazie on 8/11/2005 6:33:50 AM

 • I have learned that anything past 66.93 is just unstable for Freelancer. I have to also agree on the 6600 issues. Yours is the fith post in two days that has talked about the card being unstable. Just wish I had known about it before shelling out the cash I did. Thanks for the info and the help. <S>

 • humm i have seen this befor i think. does it do it in other games then it might be the voltage is set to low for playing games. if its just freelancer then i have no clue.
