This game sounds good.

Oh man, I´ve been waiting a long time for a game like this, done right. And because of the way the game works, even a 13 year old commander will still have to be a competent one, and if he does his job well, then I have no problem with that. Anyone ever read Ender´s Game? This is about as close as you can get, for the time being. (Imagine if they could really duplicate the Battle Room. YES!Finally its PA except in 3d what more could you ask for? The game seems well planned out however implementing all this will be a difficult task. Release date of 2004 is a long way and other massive online games might be made to compete..hopefully being better. There are still a few things missing such as will they let you walk on space stations?,how will death be handled?,and more importantly how the presistant online world will be maintained...

I have to admit, I think the persistent world bit is going to be the hard part for them to implement. In some ways, I think the game might be easier to get into if it concentrated solely on battles without the persistent world, making the draw all about rank, kills, etc. But if they can do it, that´d be very cool. Death in battle will prolly result in nothing more than you being stuck in limbo until your commander assigns you a new ship, unless he´s assigned you multiple ships already, and you´ll get to choose which of them you want to jump into. Anyway, it´s much too early to be skeptical now. Ok, I retract my first statement. After reading through the FAQ and stuff, it actually sounds very cool. The entire plot is pretty much a ripoff, but the action sounds fun. I also like the idea of not having a specific character to level or get killed. This might be one of my post-Freelancer games.
