• Tanks? Interesting, but why not just use heavy fighters? I fail to see why programming tanks is necessary. Plus, a panzer would look pretty messed up with a thruster on it. --- RR16 whoever came up with "Mission Commision" should be lined up and shot

  • Tanks in space? It makes no sense in any form.

  • u have also tanks in the air, just look at the A-10 or the old bombers off the 2nd ww... u can shoot almost everything off thus flying tanks, and they still in the sky... a tank in space... how odd isn´t the titan not a flying tank Spamius Threadius <img src=´http://www.planetgromit.co.uk/tlr/wolfy.gif ´> looking at the spam-menu right now what shall i order today

  • i remember some game that had space-tanks,they were these spaceships with HUGE cannons on turrets that would blast the cr*p out of everything ............feh Life is a waste of time,Time is a waste of life,So get wasted all the time and have the time of your life. As the 3 Anubii sped across the abyss they encountered what they least expected, purple howler monkeys riding dishwashers.

  • Space games usually conisder space millitaries to be nautical in nature (space ships, Liberty navy, battleships, ect). Just as we wouldn´t have a tank on the high seas, why would we have one in space? --- RR16 whoever came up with "Mission Commision" should be lined up and shot

  •

Because you would have the element of surprise as your enemies are all like "WTF?!"

<font face=´trebuchet ms, Verdana, Arial, Helvetica´ size=2> Tanks against battleships? I will put my bet on the battleship.

A propeller is just a big fan designed to keep the pilot cool. Want prove? Stop the prop and watch the pilot break out in sweat!

  • i wanna have a torpedo bomber so even the tank and the battleship r both gone

  • Download TNG and buy a Bwing

I know you have to remove the refrigerator door when placing it at the curb , but then the neighbours kid would get away for sure , damn moral dillema`s

  • Tank vs battleship, depends where. On the Atlantic, the tank sinks. But on land, the battleship can´t do much maneuvering. Perhaps some kind of swampy arena is in order. --- RR16 whoever came up with "Mission Commision" should be lined up and shot

  • Interesting that we refer to space fleets as naval, but they contain heavy fighters and torpedo bombers and such... airborne things. Tanks in space... right...........

  • I can´t think of any space sci-fi show with a non-nautical space force. Star Trek has Starfleet, Star Wars has the Imperial Navy, Battlestar Gallactica uses nautical terms (along with many they made up), and there are countless others. Any shows/stories use non-nautical terms? --- RR16 Whoever came up with "Mission COmmision" should be lined up and shot

  • I was always puzzled by the Wing Commander series, where they couldn´t seem to decide whether to use naval ranks or air force. Why would you have majors and commanders? Then again FL has some downright wierd ranks ... e.g. lieutenant corporal! Jose Chavez: "Trent! It´s good to see my kind of scum." Edited by - Puke Barwalker on 09-12-2003 04:37:58

  • I think they use nautical terms because of the capital ships, not the starfighters. Battleship, frigate, carrier, and gunboats are all "naval" names. Some real world fighters are part of the navy, like those certain patrols used by aircraft carrier. Also, titles like first mate, ensign, captain, admiral, and such would be appropriate for the Navy...
