• Thanks, guys. I miss my spam emails so much. Also, would it help if i asked to talk to a "tier 2" "slave labouree" (is that right?)?

  • You want to talk to the billing supervisor or someone who is responsible for billing policies. Ask for that person´s name and how to contact that person directly. Hopefully, your conversation is being recorded, in which case, the ´droid cannot bury your call.

  • Indeed, also I could set up a bunch of hotmail accounts and spam you if you so wish -~-~-~-~ There is no Silicon Heaven! • Just demand a refund for the allotted time or else you will switch ISPs. If that doesn´t work, steadily move up the ladder and do the same thing. You might have to switch ISPs though...

  • Double-check the online documentation from your ISP, and the contract that you signed when joining. They will have statements such as "As part of the agreement with the customer, <Company Name> will provide the customer with services that are decribed under section 5A of this contract..." etc. If they are not providing the services that are stipulated in the contract, then you will have an iron-clad case to use against them. I love reading through official documents and privacy policies, don´t you? (I do actually).

  • We didnt sign anything. No contract. Nada. Well, today my entire internet just died. No idea why. Ill wait a while and call them again if its still down. This kinda crap has never happened to me before. • You must have singed something, either an application or an online form, otherwise the ISP would be liable to frivolous lawsuits such as "offensive material" which is a standard clause. Perhaps they have a link to the agreement on the home page.

  • @EB I had loads of trouble with my net connection a couple of years ago when I was working from home. I lost a load of business due to it - I mean whats the point of being a web designer if you don´t have a net connection, right?! I tried and tried and

  • it´s gonna cost you just to walk away. a mate of mine signed up with Bt Internet on the basis he could have several routable IP addresses and a 20:1 contention ratio, he got 1 IP address and a 50:1 contention, connection dropping out every day, eventually ended up going to a lawyer, ended up having to stay with them for a year ´cos he couldn´t afford the thousands it would have cost to sue BT.

"for once, i`ll actually tell you what i was thinking; but maybe i won`t have anything to say.."

  • surprisingly enough, my problem was with BTInternet as well shocking I managed to leave my contract early on the grounds that THEY broke the contract....paid my solicitor to call up customer services and tell them that I want out. They released me straight away...it wasn´t a major surprise to them really, I had complained about it every day for almost three months. Sueing for compensation is not an option though with a Telecom company like BT....they´re just too damn big.
