The real me, as confided to a Psychiatrist

    I´ve dreamt about sawing someone in half with a butterknife, pulling their fingers off with pliers, slowly tearing off every inch of skin, so forth, so on. Doesn´t bother me much nowadays....

    A question. For those who have these fantasies, what do you believe brings them on? In other words, why do you have them? they wouldn´t be natural, in most cases, as most people are not in hostile cercumstances to bring on that type of anger/hate. I do believe that a lot of people have strange fantasy type thoughts, but must don´t act on them or even express them.     We get all ours back, this year we have to, got to make a portfolio for end of the year marks but me and my teacher never agrees on punctuation or how stuff should be said <img src=smilies/icon_smile_sad.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

    Punctuation and some notions of proper writing style (intended to be objective style as opposed to personal) are found in style books. The US version that is fairly common is the &quot;Elements of Style&quot; by EB White. It is a small manageable paperback. A good reference for those who want to get really serious about writing. Don´t know about the UK variant but I think Oxford or Cambridge (or both?) publish style books too.

    Elements of Style. That´s what we´re talking about. For an experiment try writing something like a Hemmingway short story and see how she reacts. Lots of short sentences in those works.

    too late, this was my second last essay the last one a newspaper article handed in the same day, getting marks back on Fri, will inform what happened, but I dont expect exceptional marks, I mean I am killing her in the story <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> Maybe I should mention, English is my second language, but I´m taking it on a first language level. Why I do not know, we got tons and tons of literature to study(the whole Hamlet and Lord of the flies as well as poems, the best of all, Hamlet counts 30 marks end of the year, as well as LOTF, its ridiculous(SP??)     Anyone who speaks one language but also takes on English as another first language has my respect. It is not an easy language to learn. Why do you not now what<img src=smilies/icon_smile_question.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

    Well, we start with english in primasry school, and since i´ve been on the net from last year I do use english a lot, even tho it is not really good english I dont know why I take english as first lang, great teacher, she is way weird, but its just so much work, much more than 2nd language Just like I dont know why I bother taking math and science on higher grade, all it does is make me look clever, not good for anything but a lot of studying <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

    I´ve found people that have english as their second language but learn it as their first generally have better english skills than people that have english as their first language.

    It´s actually better to take english as a second lang because then you learn how it works and how to use it, while in first lang you already have to know it. Unf I only realised that last year and by then it was too late too switch, besides I wouldnt want to change to another eng teacher for anything in this world <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>
