Nexus: The Jupiter Incident

  • Sounds suspiciously like Homeworld or many Star Trek games. I´ll take flying the ships over controlling 20+ ships that I´m not flying. Give me a fighter, some good weapons, and some enemies to shoot at, that´s my kind of game!

  • Now kimk, shooting is kinda drastic. *plants explosives around boscoe and proceeds to a bomb shelter nearby shouting "HEATHEN!"* It does look kinda different, i haven´t played (and have no intention of playing) it.

  • Actually the Star Trek games are often very good. They take established genres and put a twist on them, adding new things. For instance the Armada games allows units t have secondary weapons, which C&C still doesn´t do. Birth of the Federation is like Civ, only there are dozens of smaller races, such as the Bajoran and Talarians which you can bring into your camp using diplomacy. BOTF also has the best diplomacy of any strategy game I have ever played. RTW and Civ3 don´t compare. And Bridge Commander is like the X-Wing games, only instead of a stud fighter, you get a ship with FIREPOWA! ___Corsair~MMIV Reasons I´m better than you: #78468- I have squiggly lines in my name.

  • did i hear someone say mutiny *jumps in falcon, powers up and pulls boscoe into cargo hold before bombs go off* fl is about the best space sim i´ve seen yet homeworld is ok but typically gives me a headache after two hours trying to beat the fifth mission

  • Relax kimk, and btw, you missed me. Homeworld´s a great game, I´ve played it many times. I just prefer having a single ship to control and fighters and bombers to blast out of space. It´s just not my cup of Earl Grey, I never said it was bad. Geeze, some people get soooooo bent out of shape.....

  • well, just downloaded the MP demo, anyone up for a game?

---- Call me Arania Humans Fear what they do not understand. And i doubt you understand me. Never say `Eat Me` to a giant snake. Bad idea, believe me...

  • Corsair I don´t know about the Star Trek games being any good... Elite Force was the only really good one for me because it didn´t slavishly follow Star Trek´s setting to the last Jeffery´s(sp?) tube (Starfleet Command) nor seem as surreal or contrive
