It´s not worth seriously trying to become a criminal during the storyline, because your reputation is reset at the beginning of each new story mission. So all your efforts would be wasted.
Anyway I can be a criminal in the Single Player storyline?

Biggest waste of money was paying to hack my reputation, only to have the next mission turn it all around again anyway. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_sad.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> Best just to play along with the story line, though you can take your time about it. You can be to a degree, but it will cause you problems with planets you need to land on to continue the story, to the point you have to go back aways and replay parts. <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

So much for open-ended huh? At least I put it as another save...Shame OpenSP1.1 is in conflict with Advanced Unofficial 1.4 Patch, although I´ve heard otherwise...

OpenSP1.1 means you play without the story. Which means you can be a pirate and choose the factions you want to work with. <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

My reputation wasn´t reset with every story mission...how come there aren´t any Liberty Cruisers/Dreadnaughts in OpenSP1.1? Also, where can I find criminal freighters in the Liberty System?

They are in the story line only. If you want to fight them activate the Battle ship encounter mod that is in FLMM. If you do, you will need to start a new game though.

I see, once I beat the SP game I´ll do OpenSP maybe. So anyone know any good places to fight Mules? Buffalo Base in the Badlands seems a bit risky...what with the gigantic asteroids and all...

I find the best palce for hunting Mulies is Cortez hole. Go through from CA side & just wait; they will come around. Most loot I just take to Cortez; short run & price is basically irrevelant since you got it free. However, there are times you get Card & that is worth going to Manhat with. Some will sell better LA. As a bonus if you want to bag a few BH they are there too. It is hard to fly with turkeys when you soar with eagles.
