Well FreeLancer better have some kind of publicity because if MS does what they did to StarLancer, even if it was the best game on earth, the game won´t go far, if no one has heard of it, or care to hear about it. Great games like System Shock 2 never got the recognition they deserve just becuase many people didnt know about it. I hope MS will advertise FL more, but not too much as to over hype it. --------------------- If I wanted smoke blown up my ass, I´d be at home with a pack of cigarettes and a short length of hose.

Most games rely on the advertising in magazines only. That would be fine if the magazines didn´t cost so much but buying a few magazines each month can get more expensive than buying a game every month. Let´s face it, most of the cover CD´s end up as coasters anyway so I prefer not to buy magazines at all. As a result, most of my games are bought from recommendation or reviews on the net.

Well, your right about the High price of magazines. I only read dutch magazines because they contain less advertisments than english magazines witch are sold over here, and they are cheaper. But what I dislike most is that you have to wait for page 10 for the index.

What I can´t understand is that most of the revenue for magazines comes from advertising. Since that´s the case, why do they still cost an arm and a leg to buy? The Average Mag here is between 5 and 6 UKP. Free CD? Funny, while they were in transition between floppies and CD, the magazine that had the floppies was significantly cheaper than the same one with a CD.
