E2 Full Of Cheaters!

    Actually E2 started up over a week ago (using an early released version of the RTM product) I am aware of the possible cheating, and may have to do a major account overhaul. (Note, for those on the server, don´t get too attached to your characters) Stay tuned... P.S.     Well, I don´t want to release too much quite yet, and it won´t be fool proof, but it will at least alert the admin to "sudden increases in credits/rank over a very short period of time". (you know those level 38s with 2 hours invested) I´m still factoring in many variables, and it will more than likely need some tweaking over the next week, but it is better than nothing. Unfortunately I do not know of another way, at present, to do any cheat monitoring or prevention.

    Any chance to test this server monitoring tool too or will it only be for your server?     Um.... pirating? Blowing up police and company storage units and selling the loot? Remembering where the goodies are like the Flint and jumpstarting your career with a cardimine run and instant 30k? Ya, you can kick levels fast. Doesn´t mean you are a cheater. Just means FL isn´t a randomly generated universe everytime you log on. Its extremely static. All you gotta do is check your SP maps for where all the red X´s are with all the goodies @.

    Yeah, not to spoil anything, but even simple legal runs can net alot of money if you got the guts to fly a starflier with a load of luxury goods to a kusari planet, bam, 5 lvs 1 trip. Alot of the people in MP have played the SP campaign and know the money routes.... that´s all. though I´ll admit it is very easy to make money.

    there is no chetaing in E2 thats where i´m lvl 29...this game was released in the piracy world about 2 weeks ago..and thats how long i´ve had it..i´ve got 31hours on my char...so dont start assuming there are cheaters out there...unlless you call piracy cheating :O

    I think there is account time (which is the hours the character is playing on the server) so maybe you can compare that with the level of the character i guess no matter what you do... you cant earn a few 100k in 5 min.... (unless someone else gave it to you...)

    Actually, every pirated copy is another human player in the game making the game more enjoyable for those that bought it, thus encouraging others to buy it too.     Actually, I guess most of my mates on e2 are maxed out within some hours ... what else should the rest of us do with the money? You can go in a single day on your own to level 38, not to speak how fast it goes when 3-4 peeps give you the money of their last mission to start. (should be abou 1 mil to start) than go straight with them to [spoiler to get a hammerhead, and than to [spoiler to get a eagle. done. maxed out character. take less than 5 hours.

    I am sorry but I have to totaly disagree with piracy leading to less pc games. If M$ wanted to make freelancer pirate-proof they would only have to rquire a unique cd key to play online a-la counterstrike, UT2003 etc. Releasing a game with NO protection is a great marketing tool. For examople lets say there are 100,000 pirated copies being used for 2 weeks b4 realese, they get maybe 10% of these players totaly hooked on a cool game. 1 week after release they patch the game and make it so only legit copies work any more. Those 10% of adicts go out and buy a game they wouldnt of normaly bought. There are more games released now that ever b4, and more piracy than ever b4, while I am on the piracy rant, where would SONY or PHILIPS be without pirates, who would buy blank CDs if all they did was back up thier own data. Both Sony and Philips receive 0.03 cents for every CD of any description sold anywhere in the globe, that covers music cds data cds game cds ps2 x-box cds/dvds blank cds. It doesnt matter what brand or company they get the comission for using a media they invented. Now with literaly billions of cds sold globaly every year they would be serriously out of pocket just from the loss of sale of blank media. Now if a company can justify how a CD/Game/Movie can cost $15 US dollars and £15 UK pounds for exactly the same product without the crap about distribution costs I would love to hear it.     Bambi, you´re reasoning makes SOME amount of sense (not that it really works that way, though...seems like pirates were able to find ways to patch warezed WarCraft III copies just fine). But even assuming it does work this way, this is only true in the short run. When you lame pirates try to justify pirating games, you have to take responsibility for being the very people who encourage and increase the percentage of people who pirate in total. Thus, in the long run, you´re really screwing the industry over. And don´t say &quot;everybody else is doing it...&quot; cause your moral responsibilities don´t get diluted among the riff-raff. Freelancer took a lot of time and a lot of money and a lot of effort to make. Just buy a damn copy, already.

    bambi your wrong about the use of unique cd-keys....it wont stop piracy...games will still be copied..and left up to the downloader to goto nearest K-mart and steal cd-key from cd jewel and go play...there is no way around it...hell most people cant even download these pirated games..either its too big 2+cds while on dial-up...or they just plain dont know where to get it...besides kazaa which doesnt have that much at all..compared to my sources.There are plenty of people out there buying it. I have only bought 2 games in 3years...Klingon Academy (6Discs &amp; $15) and the soon to be released Star wars Galaxies.

    I´m playing on a private server.. but I am level 30 already. I have a friend that is higher than that even. I was his hired gun escort for a long time as he moved large quantities of diamonds and niobium through the galaxy.. we did trade runs for many many many many hours straight.
