Once I'm done editing them, it won't let me save. Do I need to use a different program to edit them, because I'm using Notepad right now. It's really starting to annoy me, though.

Thats a common problem all you have to do is remove the read only attribute that is set to the file. To do that right click the file and uncheck the read only box this should fix your problem

Nah, I checked the properties. Read-only was unchecked. When I try and save, it just says "Access is denied" or something.

If that link doesnt work for you log into the Tools section in the downloads area and in search box type flinieditor you will see a list of tools used for editing ini.

you cannot edit when game is running, that might cause problem

yup,if u change files while game is running now u have sets of files for game. the game see's it,next thing u know crash city,some cases u have to undo what u did or it'll never work.need to be off game,then edit the file u want changed and restart
