Freelancer Rebalance 1.0b features and feedback

  • I had crashing problems at Crete on random battleship missions but V1 seems to have solved that - nice one. I have managed to get the white star to work but it is a real bitch to dock with planets and it wont dock at all with stations - is it supposed to be like that? also how do you get the firespray to hyperspace - do you have to map a key or something?

  • Slap, The Starviper is incorprated into them mod and is available at Planet Los Angeles and Battleship Suffolk in New London. Th White Star Cruiser is not in the mod and must be added. Look at my instructions for installing it into FL. It is able to be purchased at Planet New Tokyo and Planet Los Angeles.   • Id like to start by sayin good job on the massive mod undergoing ,I love it so do the 35 accts i have now on my server .YES there is a dedicated 24/7 REBALANCE server its hosted by me Crumb . All are welcome Id really like to put it to the test but I´ve only had 7 players on at one time so far . Im runnin it on a 1700 athilon xp w/512mb of 2100ram on a 1500mb capped broadband cable line . So far so good Keep up the good work and ill keep up the server as long as people are playin

  • yep its helped, Thanks! oh and to that guy whos havin probs docking, when it goesinto the movie when landin, press esc and it will skip right to back inside werever, took me ages to figure it out and dock me gunboat in the BS =p but it works, otherwise ur ther for ages bumping inot the sides :p p.s. can someone please tell me a server which runs this mod, IP wud be appreciated, but if not known, name will help aswell, thx If What I Can´t See Can´t Hurt Me...   • Slap and others having problems docking, activate the Ghost docking ring, it comes with FLMM 2.2 and it;s compatible with my mod. or just press the ESC key, after docking sequence starts. and everybody before asking the locations and characterstics from the new ships, check out the readme.tx file included with the mod, it has specs for the ships, buying locations and other mod feature since v 0.6c, here a sample: "v0.6c: -added Starviper Colonial fighter with infocard, engine sound and a 4/1/2 weapon config -added Starfury (both ship are from Hostile Universe mod) with 6/0/1 weapons, infocard and engine. -both ships are buyable at Planet Los Angeles and Battleship Suffolk in New London" so u see it´s (almost) all there.

  • <b>holandez </b>, about the mission 3 problem. The friendly NPCs are souped up so much that they can shred the Rhinelanders really fast, too fast for the script. Once all enemies are dispatched Juni declares the mission over, but you need to stick around until the 3 Rhineland Bombers make their appearance (since disappearing them is one of the mandatory mission objectives). It should not be a long wait.

The shield regenerates but the hull does not, and thus you can ´work´ with the shield in the sense that you can take a calculated amount of damage on your shield if this allows you to do much greater damage to the shield &amp; hull of the enemy. The hull armour only provides a safety margin in case of accidents and fumble fingers, dito for nanos/batts. The difference between the factors is small (20%) and by itself this change does not matter much. However, in your great mod there are many such small differences and they do add up to a new quality in some places. For example, try flying mission 2 in a Starflier (w/o armour upgrades etc.). There is absolutely no margin for error or accident; if you fail to miss an asteroid or get rammed from behind then it doesn´t take much to turn you into a ball of fire.

  • Doomsayer: You post on the frontpage is incorrect, but since I assume you never tried this you would NOT know. YOU CANNOT ESC OUT OF A CINEMATIC IN MP!!! Therefore when you try and dock a battleship with a station YOU WILL GET CAUGHT AND FROZE IN THE CINEMATIC. Also I have no idea what you were talking about the docking ring...what does the ghostring docking have to do with it. The ONLY way mich is going to be able to add battleships is if he adds those docking rings to each station. There is no other way to large ships to dock we have worked on this for months!!! If you don´t believe me simply download my mod and dock a battleship with a station and you will see what I am talking getting caught in the cinematic.   • Just want to say love the mod! Works great for me: No crashes. Love the patrolling fleets! Love Porsches ships too: favorite ship is the Jedi starfighter! Nice to see an incorperation of great work. How about some more of it: such as Ceylons &quot;Path-finding Mod&quot; BTW if your making a wish list . 1)More systems &amp; Let the hidden ones show up on the Maps once you have found them. 2)How about a freelancer base? Pick up jobs throughout Sirus for any faction. Bases near gates sometimes offer jobs on another system, so as long as you can automap to it (pathfinding mod) you should be able to take a job anywhere? Maybe? lol 3)P.S. I would really like somthing to spend my Millions on. Special cargo? buy a base? Have one renamed after the highest bidder, Changes after someone pays more (MP)? Somplace to buy REALLY expensive proto-type weapons. The Only difference between Me and a Madman is I´m not Mad.

  • This is a great mod. Love the new ships. But why does the Starfury look like it was carved out of soap? It´s flat white all over in space and on the showroom floor. But in dock, in the weapons shop, and during the take off/landing on planets, it´s got a cockpit while the rest is still flat white. What gives?

  • Sherlog: it´s obvious that u didn´t try to play too much of the campaign or even in MP with my mod, otherwise u have been noticed that the pirate guns are WAY better than in vanilla FL, and certainly better their than civilian and military counterparts. The LRogues Drail for ex. has also a rate of 9.88 but does 29 damage instead of 24 for the justice mkIII. The Outcasts weapons, Pyros and Dragoon are now very powerful and dangerous, making 131/177/222 dmg for Dragoons class 4/5/6 and 133/167/209 for Pyros class 4/5/6. Sory about plasma weapons, I thought to give them better firing rate though(3.03) to align them with the lasers. The neutron Guns of the Corsairs are now probably the best weaps in the game because of their increased damage and the existing range adv. over other neutron guns(600 m). So its worth getting friendly with these factions. Duriel_LOP, of course, your welcome to add you modifications here. Horus, the path finding MOD is a good idea to incorporate now. About places to spend your money on, there are MK IV upgrades maded very expensive in next version, 1.1b(500k) so u´ll have something to spend your cash on. I´m gonna make some very powerful and expensive weapon prototypes and place them into Planets Gammu and Primus. thx for the idea. First Evil, activate Best image quality for Mip Maping in your video card´s driver control panel, its in Display Propertiesadvanced[name of your cardDirect3D. that should fix that texture not displayng issue.

  • oh well, if we´re starting wish lists.... 1)i think mobile suits as ships would be gr8 (it may help to watch Gundam Wing or Martian Succesor Nadesico to know what these are) although i imagine these would be hard to make being they hold the weapons, and it doesnt move, the arms do =/ altho thers planty of places to put normal hard points 2) thers already a armour upgrade, what bout something which can upgrade hardpoints max skill, but put a restriction onit, say you can only carry 4, so you can only go thru 4 upgrades =D If What I Can´t See Can´t Hurt Me...   • Both the **uk server** admin and I (and to be honest a number of the other players there) are trying to get your mod running on his server. I´m given to understand that rebalance and grrsk will not work without another couple of mods also installed first. I was wondering firstly what those other mods were, and where to find them, and secondly, why these mods can´t be packaged up into a single dload? Can you, or anyone else help here. Many thanks.

  • hi,.. i help run a server,. an would like to run the rebalance mod,. but with it being a multi part fiddle, rather than a self extracting .zp file, then it would make it to hard for the newbie 2 figure out, he would end up getting the reballance full,. thinking it was full, join the server,. an crash the first time a new item flew by,. therfore crashing both him and the server, o for the days when full, means FULL,.. btw, the mod looks cool. an i await the single d/load,. full, incusive version.... git

  • Great job on the rebalance! However, the trading system leaves alot to be desired. I don´t know if this has been addressed, and due to my current school status (beginning my master´s thesis) I didn´t take the time see what others have said... What I would like to see are specific missions to carry cargo. The size of your cargo bay is base on ship selection and including cargo hold upgrades to include special holds that can not be penetrated by scanners (ala Privateer). Merlin DRUID´S MYSTIQUE &quot;...I´m only in it for the money...&quot;

  • Great job, good mod bla bla bla etc etc. Nice new ships, gunboats are nice to fly (though it´s strange that you can mount gunboat turrets on normal ships) but I´d still like to see that Liberty cruiser. Just imagine this in MP. You fly through a Jump Hole and is greeted by another clan player on a cruiser wanting you to pay a &quot;pass-toll&quot;. Priceless.
