Lol, how long do you think he worked on that? Not that clever though, but it had fooled me for a minute. And I heared the words <i>Microsoft </i> and <i>free </i> in the same sentence before, but only in a negative way. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> Edit: Damn spelling. - I´m not crazy, I´m a car. And if you don´t believe me, you can get out and walk home. -
OH THE HUMANITY!!!!!!!!!!!

Strangely enough, I´m not joking, lying, or even bending the truth. This was an exact account of what happened an if you look at my past record, do I look like I spam a lot? No, I will not offer to "host it for him" because A: he could lose his Microsoft Certification B: I DO NOT intentionally break the law (I´ve never even received a ticket). This guy has at least 2 networks at home (that I know of) and is a Linux fanatic.......go figure. The main points of this post were to vent sheer frustration and to let others know to look around and see if anyone else might be getting similar offers. As for the all caps, can you blame me? I can only surf the net at work on my lunch hour so uploading code from floppies would probably get a little tricky wouldn´t it? At home my computer is completely stand alone and it will stay that way for at least the foreseeable future. If I seem to take a while between posts, blame the lack of time and the #%$^%$ flu or whatever it is I´m still getting over (I missed a whole stinking WEEK of work and I Definitely can´t spare the money). I´ve been trying to save up for one of those USB portable memory things but they cost $60-$80 and whenever I hit $20, another bill rears its ugly head. Don´t bother suggesting E-Bay, I don´t have a credit card and I don´t want one either. Time´s up, gotta go, thanks for listening to me rant a bit. My mind is full of useless information. *thwacks* Griffon on general principles

That´s ok, rant away, we can take it! <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>. I was just having some fun anyway, I LOVE making fun of MS, it is a major form on entertainment. I guess we´ll have to see how this "source code" thing plays out.

*Its not irrellevant to us* does this mean if some people thought it crap they could call it spam? Also did you not think to ask others if my comment offended them in anyway. And if it did i appologise. Note the bottom of my thread it says "Thats my thought on the idea of spam". Edited by - Reilles on 1/21/2004 2:31:50 PM Edited by - Reilles on 1/21/2004 2:32:52 PM

so who gives a monkey´s about post count? you can clock mine back to zero, its irrelevant. there´s only 3 things worth doing.. having a laugh, finding stuff out/ telling people stuff, and seeing how your mates are.

good man Reilles, I´m sure you didn´t offend anyone, I object to having everything here called spam.

linux is a operating system for computers. Its one of microsofts chief competetors next to mac. I personally would take a mac or xp over a linux any day of the week.

aint linux supposed to be freeware??
-
Well, technically, Linux isn´t just plastered as ´Freeware´, it´s just open-source. That´s what we have variants of it, like we see with RedHat (that has a pay version). ---------------------------------------- No matter how big a problem seems, there would always be hope, as long as someone keeps trying.

In order of classification : <b>Windows </b>: Pros: Streamlined, Easy to use, Most software will run on it. Cons: Mostly un-experienced people use it, so it´s an easy target for hackers/viruses etc <b>Linux </b>: Pros: Free, nice system. Hackers don´t dare attack it because experienced programmers use it alot. Cons: Hard to use, not many games/programs etc ---------------------------------------- "There´s no such thing as miracles or the supernatural, only cutting-edge technology" - Ocelot ----------------------------------------

Linux is great, however the lack of game support really annoys me. The only game that I know of that came out of the box with Linux support was UT2003. Yes you can use Wine but still, I intend to wait until games are being made for Linux before I make a permanent switch. For now, it´s WinXP. By the way, why is it that I create a thread with the word "Linux" in the title, and everyone starts asking questions about Linux in a thread with a completely ambiguous title?

Probably most people see a vs. in the thread and instantly cringe. Or they could have simply read this topic first and replied. Or they can´t stand to see anything about SCO. Or they just felt like it. Or........
